ahhh….Retirement!

retirement-hedgie-diane-zechman.jpgI have recently needed 3 or so retirement cards.  What a fun time of year to retire!  Here are the 2 different cards I came up with.  The first one I decided to use the Penny Black Lazy Days stamp that I purchased on my trip to Buffalo.  I still hadn’t put it away so when I saw it sitting on my desk, I thought the hedgie would be perfect for a retirement card.  Just kick back & relax in the days ahead!  I used my rectangle Nestabilities since I don’t have the square ones and I cut the right side off to lay flush with the cardfront.    The striped paper is by Die Cuts With a View.  This piece was given to me by a friend.  I was going to direct you to the paper on sale right now at All That Scraps but when I went to grab the link, I couldn’t find it.  They are probably sold out but go and check out the site- they are having a big sale to make room for new products!

retirement-hedgie-closeup-diane-zechman.jpgHere’s a close-up of the flower.  I stamped and colored it twice.  The second one was cut out and popped up on dimensionals.  The image was colored with watercolor crayons.  I am thinking that I might need to invest in the SU! crayons since I have been pulling out my small set of Lyras quite often lately.  If you have any opinions on the SU! watercolor crayons, I’d love to hear from you!  You can simply reply to this post.

stamps- Penny Black- Lazy Days, words- The Stamp Barn

retirement-shells-diane-zechman.jpgThis second retirement card was made with someone in mind that loves the beach.  I was helping a friend make this.  We were pleased with how it came together so I hope the recipient likes it.  The original one we made didn’t have the added shells on top of the vellum.  My vellum wasn’t laying down flat and I knew it would bug me!  LOL.  So I cut the strip and glued it to lie flat.  Then I added the shells on the right to cover where it was cut.  The shell on the left was just added to balance out the card.

stamps- Stipple Shells, Define Your Life, The Stamp Barn

paper- Soft Sky, Choc. Chip, Caramel, Cameo Coral, White, Soft Sky dp, vellum

ink- Soft Sky, Choc. Chip, Caramel, Cameo Coral, Cocoa

accessories- eyelets

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
