Mele Kalikimaka!

catw-bird-diane-zechman.jpgTwo nights ago I awoke during the night to Bing Crosby going through my head.  Actually, it was only the first 2 lines…over & over….LOL.  (And I didn’t even have all the words right….how pathetic is that?!  ha ha.

Here’s the first verse….just passing it along to keep your mind occupied when you awaken during the night.  ;0)

“Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say on a bright Hawian Christmas Day
That’s the island greeting that we send to you from the land where palm trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
The sun to shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii’s way to say Merry Christmas to you”

Anyway, it reminded me that I forgot to share this card.  So yesterday I searched for it and took a quick pic.  I made the background by placing several of the words from the Christmas Around the World set on a large acrylic block.  And I placed one of the ornaments on to fill in an empty spot.  Then I stamped it repeatedly to cover the base of the Celery card.  The bottom was cut away with the Martha Stewart Cornice Edge punch and a piece of Soft Sky cardstock was layered behind the bottom front.  I just love the colors of this card!  Christine’s birdie in the set was purposefully placed off the edge of the card.
