10 more days… I am slowly getting ready but I still have a few gifts I’d like to make. We’ll see if it happens. I am enjoying the sounds of Christmas though…Christmas music is my favorite! I wish I could say that I’m enjoying the smells of Christmas too…but so far not 1 cookie has been baked. (must remedy this soon).
I still need to take pics of the rest of my cards (hopefully tonight). In the meantime, here’s a little gift box of nuts I created a few months ago. I wanted some chestnuts, or an assortment of nuts, to place in the box but at the time I needed to photograph this, our local small town store only had peanuts. sigh.
The Laurence Design image, A Victorian Winter, was colored with Promarkers and is perfect for a gift like this… it reminds me of The Christmas Song (one of my faves). I can still hear my father singing this when I was a child.
The box and lid are basic box design and super easy to make with a Scor-Pal. For the base, start with 8 1/4″ x 11 3/4″, scoring each side at 2″. For the lid, start with 7 7/8″ x 11 1/4″. Score each side of the lid at 1 3/4″. Cut and assemble both pieces. If a window is desired, die cut an opening and attach a piece of acetate before assembly.
