bundle up, buttercup!

Today I have two cards to share using the new Sweater Weather set from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps January release. On the first card I also used the new Knit Stencil.

Isn’t the sentiment cute? If you aren’t familiar with it, “Buttercup” is an old-fashioned endearment meaning “sweetheart” or “dear”. Today I think it might mean “cutie”. I stamped the sweater on the same “stitched” background paper that was placed on the bottom. The top of the card base was stenciled with the knit stencil.

One of the design team, Andrea Wood, used a head from Girl Power with the sweater image so I thought it would be fun to try one with the scarf. I kept her head lower when I masked it so her face would be partly covered. I also selectively colored only the scarf.

You can see in the photos below how I stamped on the post-it note and cut out the top of the scarf to do the masking. I stamped the scarf first, then the head.

Have a great day…bundle up and stay warm!
