Warmth of Christmas

Hey… we’re already a few days into September! That means fall is just around the corner AND there’s a fun new release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! In the crafting industry, September is also quite often the month companies are gearing up for Christmas so you have plenty of time to get your holiday cards and projects done. So today I’m sharing 2 cards with the Warmth of Christmas stamp set from this month’s release. On my second card, I also used Puppy Love.

The black color of these silhouette images caught my eye on the stamp label and so I decided to make my cards with a striking red & black color combo. The wreath was stamped in green, though, to help it stand out.

The fireplace is such a great image and I thought the dog would make this card even more warm & homey. I grabbed a scrap of patterned paper for the buffalo plaid background but here’s a great set to make your own!

Have a great day and go check out all the new stamps in this month’s release!

you warm my heart

Oh my goodness…where has the summer gone? I can’t believe August is almost over and kids are back to school! Sweet ‘n Sassy is gearing up for their September release but before that comes, I have 2 cards to share with some previous sets I love… Cocoa’s Cups and Cheerful Hexies.

I used some scraps of patterned papers on both cards, paper piecing the cup on the first one…

..and making a few hexies on the second card. 3 hexagon patterns were stamped.

Have a great day!

merci

Hello! Today I’m sharing some cards with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Set Apart stamp set. Both of these cards were super easy to line the arrow stamp up where I wanted it by using my MISTI stamping tool!

On the first card I masked the word “merciful” to stamp “merci”. Masking is a great way to get more use of your stamps! The heart was covered with Stickles and really sparkles.

On my second card, I also used the Baseball Rhubarb digital image.

Enjoy these last few days of August! Where did summer go?

Have a great day!

singing praises

Good morning! Today I’m sharing a card with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Singing Praises stamp set which is the August Stamp of the Month (free with your order of $75 or more). I colored the bird image with Copics and then found some old, pretty papers to go with it. What you don’t see is some sparkle from Stickles on the flower centers.

The bible verse used here is great for creating a card of encouragement!

Have a great day!

SNSS hops with My Sweet Petunia!

Good morning! Today Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps is joining with My Sweet Petunia for an awesome blog hop and giveaway! There’s a chance to win a $50 gift code to each shop, so we hope you’ll join us and hop along! To be eligible for the drawing, leave a comment at each stop along the hop.

I made my card for the hop today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Singing Praises stamp set which is the August Stamp of the Month (free with your order of $75 or more). Love those birds!

I combined several techniques on this card… Repeat Stamping, Multi Color Inking/Selective Inking and Dye Ink Bleed. It was very easy with the aid of the MISTI!

First I placed a piece of watercolor paper in the corner of the MISTI. I like the lighter weight of this watercolor paper for cards. The magnet holds your paper in place. Then I positioned my stamp where I wanted it and closed the lid to pick up the stamp. (The MISTI is great for placing your images exactly where you want to stamp them!)

I inked sections of the bird image with three different colors. Using a smaller ink pad such as the cubes or dewdrops makes this easier. I started with the turquoise color and inked the body, then stamped it. Then I inked and stamped the head, back, and tail feathers with blue. Finally, I inked the feet and branch with brown. I cleaned the stamp between colors but it really isn’t necessary. (With a MISTI you can repeatedly stamp an image in the exact same place with perfectly aligned results!)

Here is my tri-color bird. 🙂 But I’m not done!

Instead of coloring it in, I gave it a watercolor look. I misted the image with water so the ink would bleed and then dried it with a heat tool.

When completely dry, repeat the stamping process again…starting with turquoise, then blue and brown. (By placing your paper back in the same corner of the MISTI it will stamp in the exact same place again!)

I lightly splattered some of the blue ink over the image with a Clear Wink of Stella pen and die cut a scalloped edge below the bird. Here I positioned and stamped the sentiment.

I repeated the same inking, stamping, and spritzing process with the flower image to add to my card as an accent.

I finished my card with a piece of pattern paper, some linen thread, and a few gold rhinestones to match the yellow in the paper.

I hope you try this fun technique! Now go visit Gayle for some more crafty inspiration with SNSS and the MISTI!

Back to School

Good morning! Today I’m sharing a card and project with the Back to School stamp set from the new release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. Don’t forget that SNSS also has a great sale going on NOW on all alpha stamps! Be sure to check it out!

I made a fun collage card with many of the images and sentiments to wish my daughter (who is a teacher) a great year.

I also made her class a pile of pencils to start the year off. Here’s a sample of them. The smaller sentiments on the bottom were stamped with Stazon ink using Sentimental Wordfetti. The larger sentiments on the top are obviously too large to easily stamp on the pencils so I stamped them on scraps of clear sticker labels and stuck them on.

Have a great day!

from my he(art)

Good morning… it’s August already! That means there’s a fun new release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! Today I’m sharing 2 cards with the In His Image stamp set. This artsy set is great for bible journaling. I think it’s fun for cards too! On the first card, I also used words from Freedom in Christ and Women of Praise. I hand drew the little brackets around (art). 🙂

The second card is fitting for all your crafty friends. Here I masked the “d” off “created” to make the word “create”. I’m thinking a good sentiment to write on the inside would be “Today’s Forecast: Crafting with a chance of Chocolate!” or “Happy birthday to my crafty & fabulous friend!”

Have a great day and go check out all the awesome new stamps in this month’s fun new release!

Altenew July Challenge

Hello! My card today is for the Altenew July Inspiration Challenge. I needed a birthday card early last week for a special stamping friend and I wanted to use some of the Altenew stamps I purchased. Love their flowers!

I decided to use the pretty Build-A-Flower Cattleya & matching Dies. I also used the fun Watercolor Stripes Cover Die.

Have a great day!

doodle florals

Hello! Here’s a quick card with some Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. I made a similar card earlier this year and had some scraps of patterned paper and ribbon left over so I used them on today’s card. Here I used Doodle Florals, Sentimental Wordfetti. and Texture Tiles 1.

Half of the card front was cut away and turned 90° to be the layer behind the main image panel. A fun variation to a normal A2 card.

Have a great day!
