loads of love & hugs

Good morning! Today Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps is having their May Instagram Hop. The theme this month is Masculine. Be sure to check over there for this card plus all the other projects in the hop, and comment on IG for a chance to win a $25 prize. You can find me on IG- @papercookies4u, and the hop will start at @sweetnsassystamps.

I made another Diamond Flip Fun Fold card this month, this time using the Keep Truckin’ Bundle. This style of card is fun to make. When the card is opened, the front diamond panel swings out! I don’t have the dies yet, so I fussy cut the images but they are on my list!

I stamped several images from the set on the inside to create the orange background.

Have a great day!

under construction

Hello and happy Mother’s Day! I am sharing a card today with the Keep Truckin’ Bundle from this month’s Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps release. I also used a fun technique to create my dirt background. I fussy cut my images but the dies are on my list.

For the dirt layers, I used the old Faux Leather technique. I crumpled a piece of kraft colored cardstock several times to break up the fibers, then I mostly smoothed it out and peeled it in half to get two textured pieces. I lightly swiped an ink cube over it in spots (not necessary to do though), then tore the second piece and layered it over the first. It’s hard to show the texture in a photograph. You really need to try it!

Here’s the inside of the card…

Have a great week!

stacking up

Hello! I have another masculine card today featuring the new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Pile It On Stamp & Die Bundle. This is a fun set and quick to color. The dies are great for cutting out the sandwiches to pop them up! I also stamped a partial image on the inside of the card.

Enjoy the sunshine! 🙂

pile it on!

Hello! A new month means that we’re featuring new stamps in the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps store! The set I used today is the Pile It On Stamp & Die Bundle. It’s a fun set that was perfect to create some masculine cards. I have been making some fun fold cards again lately, and the sandwich image here fit perfectly on this one! This fun fold card was inspired by Rachel Tessman’s Center of Attention Card. You can find directions to make it in that link.

There are two ways to “close” the card, but I like the above photo the best since there’s no question how the folds go when opened. As you pull the sides, the card forms a W shape with the center popped out.

The back of the card can be left as is or decorated as well. I added paper to the sides and left the center plain for writing a message.

Have a great day!

legendary ride

Recently I made a few masculine cards with the SU! Legendary Ride Bundle. I made two birthday cards and one retirement, inspired by some cards that I had seen. These are both fun folds and I’ll link below to the videos.

The first card is a Diamond Flip Fun Fold.

As you open the card, the diamond shape on the front flips out.

The other two cards are a simple Fun Fold. Just a cut and a few scores are needed. I also used an image from SU! Beautiful World on the first one. The second card also uses SNSS Retirement Sentiments.

I used the color of the recipient’s bike on this one…

Have a great weekend!

my favorite gnomie

Hello! It’s the last day of January and the last day to get this Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps tree stencil for free with your $50 order! Be sure to check it out. I used it here to make a soft background for the cute valentine gnome…he has a coordinating die too! He’s fun to color and I’ve popped him up with some dimensionals.

Be sure to check the SNSS site tomorrow for the February release. Have a great week!

feed me tacos

Do you like punny valentines? Love tacos? If so, this set is for you!

Product links: Feed Me Tacos Stamp & Die Bundle, Love You Die Set.

I made two valentine cards with the Feed Me Tacos set using non-traditional colors…no pink and red here! Instead, I paired the images with some southwestern style papers. I also used a new word die on the second card.

Click on the product links above for more samples from the team. Have a great week!

pop-up cards

Hello! Interactive cards are so much fun to create (and receive), and I have two to share with you today using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Dies, Platform Pop-Up Dies, and Platform Pop-Up Add-On Dies.

First, I used the Platform Pop-Up and Add-On dies, and MFT’s retired Ride or Die stamps & dies to create a cute birthday card. The background (add-on) was cut with a fun polka dot patterned paper. There are several cute critters on wheels in this set…so hard to choose!

I was inspired by this card by Karen Amidon when I needed a masculine birthday card. I LOVED her idea of placing the lightbulb inside a sun…brilliant! 🙂 I used an old retired QuicKutz sun and a circle punch for mine. The lightbulb and test tube are attached with acetate strips. I always loved this Paper Smooches Great Chemistry set and was thrilled when I found one online to purchase! The seller shipped it immediately and it arrived just in time to finish my card! Yay!

Note: since this was for a masculine card, I simply trimmed the tiny, scalloped edge off of the box card diecuts.

Have a great day and keep warm!

a few 2022 projects

Hello! I have several projects left to share that I made in 2022 which are also a few of my favorites from the year! I still have a few other projects from an all-day stamping event that I’ll share later.

I love to decorate envelopes and I don’t take the time to do it often enough! CCC had a generous offer a few months ago where they sent out some little freebie stamp sets if you sent them a decorated envelope plus a SASE. How fun! I stamped some of my favorite Anita Jeram images and stenciled a bright, cheery background. The second envelope was addressed to myself for the return. 🙂

I also made two Double Z-fold cards, a masculine and feminine version. They are fun to create! The first one uses the SU! High Tide stamp set and Waves of the Ocean dsp. The card base and layer are Pacific Point cardstock.

The second Double Z-fold uses SU! Friends Are Like Seashells and Seabed embossing folder, along with some more of the Waves of the Ocean dsp. The card base and layer on this one is Calypso Coral cardstock.

Next is a fun card with Lawn Fawn’s Shadow Box Card Dies and S’more the Merrier stamps and dies. Gotta love a card with s’mores! I love being able to customize cards for the recipient and this card has a squirrel and spider added as a little joke. The trees were diecut from woodgrain paper and a cute green print.

Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!

birch forest

Hello and Happy New Year! Today I am sharing a quick card using a new stencil in the January release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. This birch tree stencil is great for masculine cards. Here I paired it with a star stencil and some silhouettes.

Product links: Birch Forest & Starry Night Stencils, Scene Silhouettes: Woodland, Forest Silhouettes Bundle.

I kept this card mostly black & white with a few pops of red. The main panel was adhered with foam tape.

This stencil is the January Product of the Month and can be earned for free!

Have a great day and many blessings for a wonderful year!
