The Shepherd’s Voice

Good morning! Today I have 2 cards to share using The Shepherd’s Voice stamp set from the new release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. This one was designed for the bible journaling line but can be used for card-making too. I also used the Sweet ‘n Sassy July Stamp of the Month, Sentimental Wordfetti. So many sentiments in there!

For my first card, I started with 5 1/2″ x 11″. It was scored @ 1 1/4, 4, and 6 3/4. The sentiment hangs off the front edge and the main image panel hangs off the center fold.

My second card is CAS. I “stamped” the background using the acrylic block technique. When dry, I simply stamped the images and sentiment over top.

Have a great day!

over the moon

Good morning and Happy Fourth of July!

If you haven’t noticed, there’s a fun new release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! Today I’m sharing a few projects with the awesome Over The Moon stamp set. This one is great for both card-making and bible journaling.

I created backgrounds for my first two cards with the Acrylic Block Background technique and various ink cubes. I thought it would be a fun, different way to make the galaxy background. I also diecut a circle for the moon and colored it the same way, with only a gray inkpad. A piece of crochet thread tethers the little astronaut to his “rocket”.

The sentiment on my second card is from the Sweet ‘n Sassy July Stamp of the Month, Sentimental Wordfetti. Check it out….this month it is free with only a $60 order. There’s a lot of sentiments packed in this little set!

My last card is a little different style with some patterned papers to coordinate with the space theme. No matter how you use these stamps, your cards will turn out so cute!

Have a great day! Stay safe and enjoy!

delightful daisies

Hello! Here’s a card I made with a Sweet ‘n Sassy set that was released in April, Delightful Daisies. Blue daisies? Why not?

Several colors of blue were used on the flower and I purposely used the edge of a darker blue inkpad to create some texture on the petals. The center of the flower was used to make polka dots!

Don’t forget there’s only a week left to get the June Stamp of the Month: Happy Irises for free!

Have a great day!

flamingo pocket letter

Hello! It’s the first day of Summer so I thought I’d share a summery project today. Last week I revisited the Pocket Letters. It’s been 3 1/2 years since I last created one so I agreed to do a swap.

I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Be a Flamingo and Life & Lemons stamp sets. If you aren’t familiar with pocket letters, it is basically a baseball card sleeve which is filled with 9 ATC size (2 1/2 x 3 1/2) creations. When done, it easily folds into thirds and slips into a business size envelope. Kind of like a pen pal letter made up of baseball sized cards.

Here’s a few closer pics…

On the back I thought it would be fun to include a few summer recipes along with my notes to her. I also made a simple mini book that was tucked in the bottom left pocket. The arrows are from the Note This stamp set.

To make the little mini book, I just sort of winged it and quickly came up with my own measurements. I started with a 2 1/4 x 4 piece of cardstock for the cover and scored it @ 2. Then I cut 5 pieces of copy paper 2 1/8 x 3 7/8 and folded them in half. I layered them and trimmed the edge a bit, then inserted it in the cover and stapled it all together with a Tiny Attacher (mini stapler).

It’s fun to create something other than a card. These look so much cuter in person. I hope you try one!

Have a great day!

count it all joy

Good morning! There’s a fun release this month at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! Today I’m sharing two projects with the new Life & Lemons stamp set. I also used a few images from Mer-mazing. AND…. for a limited time, when you order Life & Lemons, you will also receive the Squeeze the Day printable for FREE! It will be emailed to you separately once your order is completed.

For my first card, I cut away half of the card front. The lemon slice was stamped in various colors for lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit.

The jar and part of the sentiment are actually on the inside.

Next I stamped some images from both of the lemon and mermaid sets on the background. I tried to keep them on the lighter side so the words would show better.

The jar and flower were popped with foam dimensionals.

I “squeezed” in another card quick with the FREE printable! 🙂 I put the images together in Photoshop but you could resize them in a Word document, print them out, cut and layer.

Have a great day!

Ai on HSN

Hello! Long post today with lots of pics. I’m just popping in today to share some cards I made for Art Impressions’ big debut airing on HSN! Tune in now…or if you haven’t seen the show this morning, check out the website for the great bundles that are being offered!

I made 2 cards for each of the Circlet TryFolds in the bundle, the Cabin and the Lighthouse. First, I made an Acetate Tent Card with the Lighthouse set.

From the front, you can see through the image on the acetate panel to the images on the inside.

Here’s a photo with a side view to show how the card was put together. The acetate is adhered to the top and bottom flaps which were first die cut with some cloud borders. I started with 4 1/4″ x 10 1/4″ and scored @ 1 3/4, 7 1/4, 8 1/4 and 9 1/4. The circle images were adhered before the top of the acetate was attached. Note: I die cut and punched the circle sentiment from the back image and brought it to the front of the card!

The sentiment circle was popped up with diecut foam sheet.

I am a bit hooked on this style of card right now…so cute!

My second Lighthouse card was done in a traditional trifold style. I started with 4 3/4 x 11 and scored each end @ 3 5/8″. I love the dark pink and navy color combo!

The first fold opened…

…and the second fold opened, which reveals the image inside that you could peek through and see from the front.

The first Cabin card I made was similar to this Lighthouse card I made last year.

My blue card base is 5 1/2 x 6 1/2. The 6 1/2″ side is scored at 2 1/4. My white card insert is 5 1/4 x 8, scored @ 4″. The patterned paper layers are 2 x 5 1/4 (front), 3/4 x 5 1/4 (middle), and 3 3/4 x 5 (inside back).

This is another fun card design to use with the Tryfolds!

For my last card, I wanted to show how you can use the images to make a simple card without the trifold designs. Here I used just the inside image with the deer and layered it onto the card front.

Now go check out Bonnie and Kate in their HSN debut!

Have a great Tuesday and… happy stamping!

Mer-mazing card and gift bag

Good morning! If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s a FUN new release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps! Today I’m sharing two projects with the adorable Mer-mazing stamp set by SNSS’s newest illustrator, Jenn Nilsson.

First, I made an acetate tent card with the sweet mermaid and sea gull. I started with a 4 1/4 x 10 1/4 piece of cardstock and scored it @ 1 3/4, 7 1/4, 8 1/4, and 9 1/4. Mountain fold all scored lines except the 8 1/4 score which is Valley folded. I die cut some waves on the top & bottom sections of the front and then a piece of clear acetate was attached to them.

I added some blingy stickers to the acetate for bubbles, the center of the flower in her hair, and even placed one for a belly button. lol.

I love to decorate gift bags but don’t do it often enough! So I thought the little mermaid would be a cute way to dress up this plain chevron bag.

I gave her some fun hair color this time and popped her up on some banner die cuts. (I even made a small dent in the eyelets still in my stash!)

Have a great day!

sweet of you

Hello! Here’s a card I made with an older Sweet ‘n Sassy set, Sweet as Honey. Like many SNSS sets, this one is great for both card making and bible journaling. It’s a pretty simple one…I stamped the words and honeycomb onto the background paper. Then I layered some more papers on and stamped/popped up the bee.

Don’t forget there’s only a few days left to get the May Stamp of the Month: Peony Cluster for free!

Have a great evening!
