true friend notepad & pen

I picked up a bunch of these notepads and matching pens (last year…I think) in the back-to-school supplies. They are great for altering. The clear plastic cover already has the colored circles printed on it, so it is ready to be stamped with a design using Stazon ink. It is so quick and easy! I spent more time trying to find the spring that flew out of the pen and put the pen back together than I did stamping…LOL!
The barrel of the pen was removed and I stamped a matching design on the inside piece. I remembered having a difficult time stamping on the round surface when I made some a few months ago. At the time, I had to use the Stazon cleaner to remove the ink and it took several tries to get satisfactory results. This time a light bulb went off and I laid the stamp down with the inked rubber facing up. Then I just rolled the barrel piece across the stamp. Wow- so much easier and it looked great on the first try!
I also punched some holes and inserted a few eyelets and a big yellow brad in the center of the silk flower. I hope the recipient likes it!
