another acetate card

Hello!  Hope you had a great weekend!

I sure did!  Yesterday I spent the day with some of my friends at another shoebox gathering.  This is when we get together, divide up at tables, and we bring enough supplies in some sort of box for everyone at our table to make our project.  We also have a few swaps, make and takes, and lots of great food.  I have a few projects to share with you and this first one was my shoebox project for the ladies at my table to make.

Sometimes I do a 3D project, but this time I brought an acetate card.  A purple acetate card.  I told you I was into the purples lately…lol.  This actually started off with the ribbon that I found.  Then the bling to match.  ;0)  The purple colors in the photo don’t quite match and to be honest, they are off IRL too…lol….but they really do look good together on the finished project.

Here’s a side view with a yellow background so you can get a better look at how it was put together.  I had a hard time getting good pics with the acetate!

The branch is stamped on the front with Stazon and the bird layer is attached to the inside.  Another white panel was attached to the back of the card so the adhesive would not show through.

If you want a nice, heavy card that will stand well on it’s own, you really need some 10 mil acetate.  Also… my friend, Nancy, (a paper expert) told me to be sure to score the heavy acetate before folding it to avoid cracking.

Tomorrow I’ll share another project or two.  Have a good night!
