time to celebrate

This is my last card showcasing the new Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) April release products. I’ve been wanting to try some more quilt cards, and I made this one masculine to pair with this awesome clock image from the Vintage Clocks Bundle.

I followed this layout by Klompen Stampers for the placement of the squares. Then I took it a step further and embossed the whole layer with the SU! Softly Sophisticated embossing folder.

Have an awesome day!

you are jawsome

Today I’m sharing a shadow box card that I made last month for a special someone turning 8. I used Lawn Fawn’s Shadow Box Card and Ocean Add-on Dies, Duh-nuh stamp & die set, and the Platform Pop-Up Add-on for the sun & clouds. The number 8 on the back is from Michael’s Recollection Number Dies. I also added a wiggle eye to make the shark extra fun.

Have a fin-tastic day! 🙂

butterfly Topper Trifold Card

I have another Topper Trifold card today and this time I switched out the circles on top for some butterflies! (I could only find two cards with this trifold design, and no name for it. Since any shape could be added to the top, I am simply calling it a Topper Trifold Card going forward. The other Topper Trifold cards that I made are here and here. Below is also a simple photo with measurements.

For my card today, I used the Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) Embrace Change Bundle, Take Time stamp set, and Gratitude Matters Bundle.

When folded, the butterflies are aligned.

Have a great day!

always a good time

My card today features the new Take Time set, Vintage Clocks Bundle, and Delicate Florals Bundle by Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps). Here I made a fun W-V Fold Card for a friend’s challenge. Another friend said that the Sweet Hour of Prayer hymn is her favorite. What’s yours?

(Love the clock in pink! ♥)

Have a great day!

butterfly action wobble

I’m still having fun with the awesome new Embrace Change Bundle by Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps). For my card today, I placed one of the butterflies on an Action Wobble. 🙂 My sentiment is from Be Encouraged 2.

Here’s a peek underneath the butterfly. It’s attached to the card with a plastic spring. All you have to do is peel off the backing and stick one side to your image, then the other side to your card.

If you haven’t seen the Action Wobbles in action… here’s a quick video. Have an awesome day!

Butterfly Basics

I’ve been participating in a friend’s weekly challenges lately. The SU! Butterfly Basics set has always been a favorite of hers, so she chose for us to use it this week. It is a favorite of mine as well, so I enjoyed playing along. I’m also enjoying just working with butterflies and flowers again! Here I used Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, and Berry Burst. I believe the lower butterfly is So Saffron.

Have a great weekend!

vintage clocks bridge card

Today I have a Bridge Card using the Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) new Vintage Clocks stamp & die bundle. I love this sentiment because it could be used for grandchildren or also grandparents! Here I stamped the grandfather clock image and placed it on one front side of the bridge card (it fits perfectly!). Then I placed my sentiment flag on the other side. I also added some florals to the “bridge” with the new Delicate Florals Bundle.

Have an awesome day!

shower card and pleated gift wrap

I have a second post for today…here’s a bridal shower card that I needed for this past weekend. The bride’s color is purple, and she loves sunflowers. Here I used a dark, textured purple cardstock for the base and SU! Perfect Plum for the layer. The white layer was die cut with a Penny Black rectangle die and the sunflowers are from a PinkFresh Studio washi tape and coordinating dies. The dress is from the Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) Mr. & Mrs. stamp & die bundle. I also used a sentiment on the inside from the Engagement & Wedding Innies set. Her name was printed on the computer; this is one of the things that I love about this hobby…being able to personalize projects!

I also wanted to share how the gift was wrapped up. I found this pleated gift-wrapping tutorial and gave it a try. Then I used my wax seal kit on the bottom center and tucked a few things into the pleats. I printed their photo in purple (I blurred the faces here). Then the card was tucked into the top pleat.

I have a few of the sunflowers leftover from this project so you may see them show up later on the wedding card. 🙂

Have a great week!

delicate florals

Good morning! Today I have a quick card that I made for a friend’s challenge to use black, white, and tan. I started with a black & white floral-patterned paper for the background. Then I embossed the tan panel and layered some flowers from the new Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) Delicate Florals Bundle. The sentiment is from Be Encouraged 2.

Have a great Tuesday!

Butterfly Easel Spinner Card

Good morning! Today Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) is having their April Instagram Hop. Be sure to check over there for this card plus all the other projects in the hop, and comment on IG for a chance to win a $25 prize. You can find me on IG- @papercookies4u, and the hop will start at @sweetnsassystamps.

For my card, I used products from the April new release. Here I used the new Embrace Change Bundle and Delicate Florals Bundle, plus the previously released Circle Dies to create a fun, interactive card.

When I saw these butterflies and how they are symmetrical, I knew I wanted to make a spinner card. Then I thought it would be fun to try to turn the spinner into an easel card as well. (see video below). I figured some simple measurements and cut/scored my cardstock base so that it would fit in an A2 envy and also be big enough for my butterfly to spin. When opened, the card front is supported by the sentiment and the butterfly spins freely. If desired, you can wind it up before inserting into the envelope for a fun surprise!

When folded shut, it lays flat for mailing.

I started with a 4 x 12 piece of cardstock for the base and scored it @ 4″ and 8″. Then I chose a die with approx. 2 3/4″ diameter to create the opening. I laid a 3 3/4″ square of white cardstock on top of one of the end sections WITHOUT GLUING IT DOWN and die cut through both pieces at once so that they would line back up together later. You can remove the white piece and emboss it, as I did, or use patterned paper instead, if desired.

I stamped, colored, and die cut two butterflies and set them aside. Then add a light string or fishing line with Scor-Tape above and below the window and trim the ends. Next replace and adhere the white layer on top, sandwiching the string between the layer and the base.

Adhere the butterflies with their backs together and the string between them. I then trimmed 1/8″ from the opposite end of the card base so that it would easily fold inside the card. Add some patterned papers, images, or embellishments as desired.

Here’s a little video to show the butterfly spinning.
