time well spent

Good morning! Today I have two cards to share with some great new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps sets called Time Well Spent (the June Stamp of the Month) and Gear Up. I also used the Texture Tiles 2 set. These are great for Father’s Day (which is coming up soon!) or any other time that you need a masculine card.

I used the brick pattern for the background on my first card and then sponged the panel. The time piece was popped up with dimensionals.

For my second card, I cut the top of the time piece off and turned it into a watch. The band is an old Santa’s belt die from my stash! You could easily just layer it onto a strip without the buckle or possibly create one with small rectangle dies.

Have a good day!

can’t wait

Good morning! My cards today pretty much sum up how we all feel… anxious to get together again with friends and family! Here I used the SNSS In This Together digital printable. You can also easily use the In This Together stamp set. Either one works for a quick and easy set of cards to let someone know how much you miss them.

To use the digital images, I first sized and placed them how I wanted them in a Word document. Then I cut pieces of patterned paper to fit my card front. I used a temporary double-sided tape to attach the patterned paper panels to a sheet of copy paper and ran them through my printer. Then I ran another piece through to print several sentiments and layered them on with a ribbon.

I hope these cards inspire you to try out some digital images or use your stamps to make some CAS cards. Have a nice Sunday!

virtual stamping 3

Hello! Today I have some more cards that I’ve made while “virtual stamping” with friends and playing along with challenges. My first card was for a sketch challenge and I used a digital image by Nola Pierce Chandler called Socially Distant Hug. She is cute and quite perfect right now, isn’t she?

This dragonfly card was for a challenge to use an old technique and I chose the Acetate & Tissue technique. I’m guessing this piece I found in my supplies was made about 2005. It was a few years before a good friend passed away. We loved trying out techniques! I used Dragonfly Dreams and matching dies.

To create the background, add white glue like Elmer’s or Crystal Effects (your choice) to the acetate. (Stamp on the opposite side first if you want to). Then add some drops of reinker and spread it around. Add glitter and Pearl-Ex powders. Then crumple tissue paper and smooth it back out and lay it over the glue. Set it aside to dry. Trying to get a pic of the shimmer, sparkle & shine…

My next card was for two challenges…using butterflies and make a collage. I used Your Story, Psalm 23 Background, Begin Again, and In This Together.

This card was also for two challenges…a sketch challenge and “make a wish”. I used Blessings in Disguise and Lots of Love.

Here’s another super old technique. It’s just like the Acetate & Tissue above but without the tissue paper. This is called Caught In Crystal. I used the Made New butterfly dies, In This Together, Encouraging Thoughts, & Your Story.

Trying again to see the shimmer, sparkle & shine…

While making the Socially Distant Hug card, I printed off another digital image by Nola and made a grad card that’s perfect for this time we are facing!

For a color and a sketch challenge…again I used In This Together. The sentiments are so good right now!

Here I used Sweet Little Lamb with the Psalm 23 Background and Encouraging Thoughts. The MISTI was awesome for stamping the background. I used several colors of ink cubes and stamped a few lines at a time, overlapping the inks.

These two fun kid’s cards were stamped with the Reverse Confetti Later Alligator set and matching dies.

Here’s a CAS Z-Fold card with those tulips again, this time for a plaid challenge.

Last one for today…using the elk from SU! The Wilderness Awaits and Tree Rings for a wood theme and sketch challenges.

Have a great day and stay safe!

In This Together

Welcome to the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps May Release Hop! There’s another fabulous release in the SNSS shop that we’ve been stamping with and we’re excited to share our projects with you! Hop along and leave a little comment love for the designers linked below and you might just be a lucky winner! One lucky comment from all the comments along the hop will win a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, May 20.

For today’s hop I used the In This Together and With Love Alpha stamp sets. I’ve been in the mood to create with yellow for some reason…not my norm but it’s a happy color! For the first card I created my own background by stamping the teapot with flowers tone on tone, then sponging the same ink over a stencil in desired areas. I then mixed some alpha letters into the sentiment for a bit of whimsy. The flowers were stamped, colored with Copics, and layered on top.

For the second card I decided to add color to the flowers a different way.

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the flowers with Archival ink. Then I used the corner or edge of small ink spots to swipe a little color in each area. This can be as imperfect as you want!

I spritzed the piece with water and let the colors move and bleed together. Then I used a heat tool to dry it. After dry, I smooshed some of the same inks onto an acrylic block and came back with a water brush to pick up the color and add a little to the image. This is just a different, fun way to add color.

Have a great day and thanks for hopping!

begin again

Good morning! Today I have a CAS card to share with a new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps set called Begin Again. If you like butterflies, this set is for you! I also used the new May Stamp of the Month: Encouraging Thoughts sentiment set and mixed it up with the With Love Alpha set to create the word “day”.

I cut out and added one of the smaller butterflies (minus it’s antennae) over top of the large one, only attaching it in the body. Then I bent the wings forward and adhered a rhinestone.

This card is quick & easy…give it a try! Have a great day!

friendship is a blessing

Hello! Today I have two cards to share with some Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. For the first card I used the Beautiful Birds, Friendship Is A Blessing and Print Blocks Alpha stamp sets. I even pulled out an old piercing stencil to accent the circles. Remember when we did this by hand instead of using dies? It’s still fun to do! The layout I used was inspired by Leanne Pugliese.

For my second card I used Dragonfly Dreams, The Future, and Grunge Elements 2 stamp sets to make a card with a grunge style background. I cut the dragonfly by hand but dies are coming soon!

Have a great day and stay safe!

virtual stamping 2

Hello! Since we can’t get together, I’ve been stamping some more “virtually” with my friends and playing along with challenges. It has been a great way to think about something other than the news and bonus…I’ve mailed quite a few cards!

First I used the Altenew Birds of a Feather and matching dies to create a few cards for a washi tape challenge.

I applied strips of washi tape to white cardstock and then die cut the birds. I found it helpful to first loosely trace the die so I knew exactly where I needed the washi. Now I’m thinking of other shapes to die cut!

The white panels were cut with Gina Marie Scalloped Stitched Rectangles. Card bases are SU! Sweet Sugarplum and Melon Mambo.

This card was for a food & drink challenge. I spied this bowl of cherries in the long retired SU! Giggle Greetings. The Pawsitively Prints dsp is also long retired. I used Die-Namics Stitched Scallop Edges and C.C. Designs Cherry dies.

For a watercolor challenge I did a wash on the watercolor paper panel, then painted the watercolor over a Gina Marie Slanted Bricks stencil. Flowers from Concord & 9th (Beautiful Branches) were stamped over top and then I went over them with a waterbrush. Cardstock is Island Indigo, Lemon Lime Twist, and a brown.

Next I made this card for a challenge to use doilies. I also used a piece of floral fabric I received from a friend. It was applied to sticky-back paper first for ease in cutting it out. The sentiment is from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Encouraging Thoughts free printable.

I used the SU! Grace’s Garden bundle here along with colors from a challenge to make this garden gate card. The embossing folder is Darice Brick Wall.

And matching envelope…

Next I made this for a challenge to use umbrellas/rainbows. The SU! Under My Umbrella and matching punch is so cute! I didn’t get the matching paper so I used Echo Park’s Sunny Days Ahead.

The inside…

Yesterday I got sidetracked when I was looking for something and found my Pigpen stamp! I thought he’d go great with a sentiment I had printed out for another “Coronavirus Card”.

I used my old (2001!) Pigpen stamp by Stampabilities, a sentiment from a Taylored Expressions free printable, Gina Marie Wonky Stitched Squares, and Die-Namics Blueprints 20.

I also made a CAS princess card yesterday for a crown/royalty challenge. I used Echo Park Princess Set #1 dies and the acrylic block background technique. The scalloped panel was cut with Die-Namics Blueprints 20.

I’m sure there will be more virtual stamping in the near future while we are all staying put! Have a good day!

Isaiah 26:20

Just popping in to share a bible journaling page. Have faith and let’s get through this together!

I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Girl Power printable and drew my own masks onto patterned paper. The faith over fear was stamped with Walk By Faith. I also used free printables from Queen & Company and Nola Pierce Chandler. The background is a Heidi Swapp stencil and the “viruses” are diecut with SU! Poppy Moments dies.

Stay safe & have a great day!

more country garden

Good morning! Yesterday I shared a few cards in the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps hop using the Country Garden set. Today I have 3 more cards to share. What can I say…it’s a great set! I also used Friendship Is A Blessing and Print Blocks Alpha.

How sweet is this bicycle in my first card? Love it! I paired it with a simple “hi” and some cute papers.

Next I used the vase with a fun layout and colored the flower red to make it pop.

For my last card I kept it CAS and added a meaningful sentiment.

Stay safe & have a great day!
