be joyful

Good morning! Today I have two projects to share. I used Sweet Little Lamb, Loop da Loop Alpha and the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps March Stamp of the Month: Blessings in DisguiseFirst I made a Faithdex card using one of the lambs.

Since my alpha was large and I didn’t know where my letters would land, I first masked the top of the lamb. Only a small portion of the letter f ended up needing to be masked!

The sun was a pre-printed die-cut prompt from the Gifts & More section of the SNSS Store.

While I had that awesome Loop da Loop Alpha out, I decided to also make a card. I used my MISTI to stamp the letters onto some patterned paper, then added some stamped and fussy cut leaves. This is a 3 1/2 x 6 1/4 card which fits into a regular #6 3/4 envelope. Sometimes it’s nice to make a different size and we mostly all have this size envelope handy!

Have a great day!

blessings in disguise

Welcome to the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps March Release Hop! There’s another awesome release in the SNSS shop that we’ve been stamping with and we’re sharing our projects with you today! Hop along to the blogs linked below and leave a comment on each stop along the way for a chance to win a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, March 25.

For today’s hop I used the March Stamp of the Month: Blessings in Disguise. For both projects, I started with some simple watercolored backgrounds and stamped my images on top with black ink.

For my second card, I loosely watercolored a striped background. I kept my cardstock to black and white on both cards so the watercolor panels would pop.

Have a great day and thanks for hopping!

bunny birthday

Hello! Just popping in with a CAS card for a favorite little girl who turned four. She loves blue and purple! I used the cute Lots of Love stamp set and the Die-Namics Horizontal Skinny Stripes & Blueprints 15 dies.

I colored the die cut stripes with Copic markers and popped them back in place. Easy Peasy. Stay well!

sweet little lamb

Good morning! Today I have two cards to share with a super cute new stamp set from this month’s release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. I used Sweet Little Lamb and Loop da Loop Alpha to make my cards. My first card is a Corner Flip Card. I don’t know who originally designed this but here’s a video showing how to make one. I used one of the lambs on the outside and popped up his head with foam dimensionals. The flowers and butterflies on the front were paper-pieced.

On the inside I used the other lamb and colored the images.

I had a leftover triangle of the blue patterned paper from the first card so I added it to my second one and stamped a simple sentiment! I didn’t use any sweet lambs here…I just let the flowers take center stage.

Have a great day!

they’re back… with fun folds!

Hello! I’ve been having fun with two of my retired stamp sets that were brought back in stock… Special Blend and Get Well Critters at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. I’ve always loved different card folds and recently have been trying a few more. I don’t know who updated this fun fold but it’s a variation of Beate’s Buckle Card from many years ago on SCS. The teacup is popped up on the front flap that tucks into the punched slot. I stamped a matching envelope for this one too.

Here’s the card open.

And here’s the measurements I typed up to save. I replaced one of the white layers with the yellow patterned paper on the front.

Here’s a new fold that lays flat and fits in an A2 envelope for mailing. The original creator of this fold is Emma Goddard. She didn’t have a name for it when I asked but decided on Fold Flat Pop Out Card! I love how the middle layer is scored and the front strip is curved!

I was curious at first about how this card goes flat without wrecking the curved piece. Let me see if I can explain…it folds flat like an open book, not closed. Does that make sense? So the front curved piece is flattened out, not folded. The card stays “open”.

Here’s the measurements for this card. I tucked the tabs for the curved front panel behind my apricot patterned paper.

And here’s my two stamp sets…go check them out!

hello spring!

Good morning! Today I have some cards to share using the Springtime and Sentimental Mash-Up stamp sets from this month’s release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. This cute spring set is a must have and the sentiment set will be a great go-to set for your cards! First I stamped the boots image and accented it with the little ladybug. The blue cardstock layers were leftover from die-cutting the frame for this card. I embossed them with a subtle texture embossing folder.

I’ve been wanting to try the Bridge Card fold so that’s where my inspiration for my second card started. I wanted the bottom piece across the front to be grass and the pieces all fell into place from there. These are SO fun and easy. I can see many more in the future!

This card does lay flat and fit in an A2 envelope for mailing!

There are a few variations on these, including horizontal and vertical cards. The measurements I followed are to start with a 4 1/4″ x 8″ base, scoring each end @ 1 1/4″ and 2 1/2″. The Bridge piece is 5 1/2″ wide x however tall you want it. Mine is about 1 3/8″ at the tallest peak after die-cutting the grass edge. My patterned paper layers are 1 1/8 x 4 1/8 and 2 7/8 x 4 1/8.

Have a great day!

For today’s hop I used the sweet new Springtime stamp set. I chose the little chick for my first card and put him in a cute frame.

For my second card, I used the boots and accented them with two of the cute butterflies in the set. Wouldn’t pink dotted boots be fun? You can make them any color you want!

Have a great day and thanks for hopping!

birthday borders

Good morning! Today I have some cards to share with some border images and sentiments from the new Birthday Borders and Sentimental Mash-Up stamp sets from this month’s release at Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps. First I used a portion of the row of candles. I stamped them with gray ink so I could stamp the birthday word over top in black. They were colored to coordinate with the patterned papers. Then a single cupcake from the row of cupcakes was popped up.

For the second card, I repeatedly stamped the row of balloons in pink for a background. Then I stamped balloons again onto various scraps of the same patterned papers to adhere over several of the balloons.

Have a great day!

winter hugs and lots of love

Good morning! Today I have 2 projects that use up some of those paper scraps laying around! I also used the adorable new Lots of Love, Love Wordfetti, and Winter Hugs stamp sets.

I cut my paper scraps into 1/2″ strips and created a simple striped background for my card. I hated to cover it up so I just added a small black strip for my image to sit on.

I had some strips leftover from my card so I used some more to create a few ATC Coins. I cut a few words from the Love Wordfetti set and added a bit of white paint pen to the stamped hearts.

Have a great day!

only a call away

Hello! Today I have some cards using some Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps from the December release, plus a few others. I’ve used Sympathy Morning Glories,  Vintage LoveArt Deco Alpha, So Thankful, and Typewriter Text Background. Here’s a CAS card with no layers except the popped up flower. The MISTI is awesome for getting those letters straight and placing the elements exactly where you want them! This is a great alpha! Next time I’ll color in those neat letters.

Another CAS card here…sometimes an understated image is better for certain occasions. I stamped the flowers monochromatic with the cardstock and layered onto a patterned paper background.

The typewriter from the Vintage Love set pairs perfectly with the Typewriter Text Background!

Have a great day!
