butterfly action wobble

I’m still having fun with the awesome new Embrace Change Bundle by Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps). For my card today, I placed one of the butterflies on an Action Wobble. 🙂 My sentiment is from Be Encouraged 2.

Here’s a peek underneath the butterfly. It’s attached to the card with a plastic spring. All you have to do is peel off the backing and stick one side to your image, then the other side to your card.

If you haven’t seen the Action Wobbles in action… here’s a quick video. Have an awesome day!

Flying Butterfly Clothespin Craft

Today I have another interactive project…but this time it’s a fun craft for kids inspired by this video on Instagram. I used the new Embrace Change Bundle by Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) to make the butterfly.

Here’s a quick photo tutorial showing how to make it. Scroll down for a short video to show the fluttering wings. 😊 My helper had a lot of fun making this and even helped to die cut the butterfly.

Check out the video to see it in action. Have a great day!

Butterfly Easel Spinner Card

Good morning! Today Creative Worship Stamps (Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps) is having their April Instagram Hop. Be sure to check over there for this card plus all the other projects in the hop, and comment on IG for a chance to win a $25 prize. You can find me on IG- @papercookies4u, and the hop will start at @sweetnsassystamps.

For my card, I used products from the April new release. Here I used the new Embrace Change Bundle and Delicate Florals Bundle, plus the previously released Circle Dies to create a fun, interactive card.

When I saw these butterflies and how they are symmetrical, I knew I wanted to make a spinner card. Then I thought it would be fun to try to turn the spinner into an easel card as well. (see video below). I figured some simple measurements and cut/scored my cardstock base so that it would fit in an A2 envy and also be big enough for my butterfly to spin. When opened, the card front is supported by the sentiment and the butterfly spins freely. If desired, you can wind it up before inserting into the envelope for a fun surprise!

When folded shut, it lays flat for mailing.

I started with a 4 x 12 piece of cardstock for the base and scored it @ 4″ and 8″. Then I chose a die with approx. 2 3/4″ diameter to create the opening. I laid a 3 3/4″ square of white cardstock on top of one of the end sections WITHOUT GLUING IT DOWN and die cut through both pieces at once so that they would line back up together later. You can remove the white piece and emboss it, as I did, or use patterned paper instead, if desired.

I stamped, colored, and die cut two butterflies and set them aside. Then add a light string or fishing line with Scor-Tape above and below the window and trim the ends. Next replace and adhere the white layer on top, sandwiching the string between the layer and the base.

Adhere the butterflies with their backs together and the string between them. I then trimmed 1/8″ from the opposite end of the card base so that it would easily fold inside the card. Add some patterned papers, images, or embellishments as desired.

Here’s a little video to show the butterfly spinning.

I hope you try this fun card! Enjoy the hop and be sure to comment on Instagram for a chance to win!

Ai Cat Flutter Card

Hello and happy Spring! Today I am playing along in the current Ai Challenge…Inside Out (decorate the INSIDE of your card as well as the outside). I love to do this but usually fall short…but I’ve been trying to decorate the inside more often!

I need a birthday card for a friend who loves cats, and I love interactive cards…so the 5029- Cats Flutter Set was purr-fect to use. 🙂 I tried to loosely color them to the color of her cats, and I put a bowtie on the male cat. I don’t see the cat set currently in the link above so it may be temporarily out of stock…but there are several other fun flutters to choose from!

When you pull the tab, their arms raise up!

Here’s the decorated inside…

And here’s a peek at the back of the kitties with the string and brad mechanism. There are directions on the package insert.

Ai Love Spinner

Good morning!  I have a fun card to share (and a quick video).  I love interactive cards so I am excited today about the Art impressions new Spinners Launch!  They are ALL so cute and immediately went onto my wish list.  Is this not the cutest couple?

Ai Love Spinner 1 diane zechman

I used Love Spinner (4571) and the coordinating Love Spinner Dies (4613) on my card.  The front is CAS (clean & simple)…

but this card is all about what’s inside…

The front & back images have diecuts that match up perfectly with each other to make putting them back to back a SNAP!  Just adhere them on a string and they SPIN… cool!  I made a Pop Out Window Suspension Card to hang them in.

The front & back of the paper pieced images…

Millie’s jumpin’! (with video)

My friend, LouAnn, just retired and of course I needed to make her a card in celebration.  So I turned to another one of my Art Impressions Golden Oldies, the too cute and oh so funny Millie.

Millie retired 1 diane zechman

I took one look at her and decided that she needed to be in motion…so I colored and cut her out, then mounted her onto the card with an Action Wobble spring.  Only the lines around her which show motion were masked and stamped onto the patterned paper underneath.

After my card was completed it still seemed liked something was missing.  Glitz!  So Millie’s blouse was made sparkly with a clear Wink of Stella pen.  Much better.

On the inside, I typed and printed the message on my computer.

Wanna see Millie wiggle…err…jumpin’ for joy??

Happy Mother’s Day! (and video)

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!  I hope your day is extra special.

A week ago I went to the local Arts Fest and found the cutest bird feeders…  antique tea cups mounted onto old spindles!  My girls gave some to me for Mother’s Day and I purchased a few for gifts.  Since I was giving one to my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day, I wanted to make a matching card.  I realized then that I had just the image to make it!

The bird and teacup image from my Special Blend stamp set was perfect!  ♥

When we purchased the feeders, I was pleasantly surprised that “100% of the proceeds go to help provide adaptive AmTrykes to differently abled people.”  What a wonderful gift those ladies are giving that make them.  Here’s a few pics of the birds that I’ve enjoyed watching as they visit the feeders.

and a sneaky one… “If I look the other way, he might not see me coming”.  lol.

And a quick little video to share…I think the last little bird needs his momma to give him a few more flying lessons.  😉  Happy Mother’s Day!
