BBB cookie exchange

It’s time for another cookie exchange and this time 3 of my DD Alumni friends agreed to play along! We decided to use the new SU! set Big Bold Birthday. I didn’t give them any other guidelines….just to use this set. Jen del Muro, Paula Bloom and Michelle Laycock participated in my challenge. Click on their names to check out their cards. 🙂
I decided to make a Big Buckle card using the Word Window punch for the hole. Directions for the Buckle cards can be found here on Splitcoast. Beate does a fantastic job with the tutorials there! I turned my card around a bit and just cut a 1 1/2″ strip off the front for the buckle. I scored it at 1″ and then attached the 1″ section on the back of the card.
When the new catty came out I was a bit confused until I found out that there was a mistake in it. The bottom of the cupcake is pictured as a solid image but in fact it has the happy birthday words all over it. I love it with the words….so cute! After stamping the dots on the frosting, I added some Stickles. And I added some Stickles to the candle flames and horn (under the words) as well. Hope you like it!

first cookie exchange!

Here’s my first challenge with another stamper. Kirstin agreed to play along and you can find her creation here. I do not own this set but my friend let me stamp a few petals to try it out. The challenge was to use the new SU! set Pick a Petal and also the colors Turquoise and Orchid. I didn’t stop at one and made 2 cards….so fun! This set is very cute and caught my eye right away but it also is a bit more challenging to me.

I used a pair of wave scissors on the first card. The second card has Stickles glitter all over the watercolored flower petals and I brushed in a stem by hand.
stamps- Pick a Petal, You Make Me Happy, $1 stamp
cs- Turquoise, Orchid, Night of Navy, white, Sweet designer paper
ink- Black, Navy, Turquoise, Orchid, Artichoke (flower stem on second card)
access.- ribbon, Stickles, oval punches, button, white gel pen

cookie exchange

No, I’m not getting ready for Christmas by baking batches of yummy cookies. LOL. I’ve decided to occasionally challenge another stamper to create something with specific items. I’m sure you all have seen the fun challenges going on in various blogs. I’m not sure of the specifics on how they carry them out but I thought it would be fun to actually RAK each other with the end results. I asked my SCS friend, Kirstin (CrabbyAbbe) to be my first victim…hehe…for a “cookie exchange”. So hopefully soon I will post the cards we will be working on. Fun, fun!
