At the CNY gathering last Saturday my friend Karen (kmk24) came up with a very cool card…..a faux pocket! You can see her card here. I tried making one today since I wasn’t sitting at her table. Karen left some spaces blank so the ladies at her table could use it for any occasion and she punched a square window in the front which I neglected to do. (I wasn’t following directions because I thought I remembered what it looked like) Ha!
The front of the card is cut along the fold 1 1/2″ from the top and folded down. I tied the ribbon (thanks, Linda T. for the ribbon!) under the flap. The edge of the flap was also punched with the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch… LOVE that punch…and it was lined with a bit of Bayou cardstock. Then the Sierra Sand layer was attached and the flap was glued down.
This faux pocket card opens like a normal card and the “insert” is actually glued to the back. Thanks, Karen, for sharing your great idea!
