Whoo Hoo!

studio-g-owl-diane-zechman.jpg Jami challenged the Dirty Dozen and DD Alumni to create something with owls for May.  Owls are everywhere you look right now so this wasn’t too difficult.  It was actually a lot of fun since I had picked up the owl image in the dollar bin at Michael’s some time ago and it was still on my mental “to do list” to make something with it.  I think this image is super cute!  The words were in the dollar package as well.  Here are the rules Jami gave us:

Challenge Focus: Owls.

Required Element: Texture.

Restricted Element: No crystals/rhinestones or dew drop type embellishments.

For the required texture, I was inspired by Michele (Tillyhead) to pull out my long neglected crimper!  The Regal Rose layer was punched with the Giga Scallop square punch and then run several times through the crimper in both directions.  Then I smoothed it back out with my finger.  The owl was colored with Copics and then I doodled a frame around him.  This is a very simple card with the addition of some patterned paper.  You can check out all of the challenge projects here.
