a limited supply Ruffles card

hc-riley-ty-1-diane-zechman.jpgHello everyone!  Another week of summer has slipped by again, hasn’t it?!

I just returned from vacation at the beach and now I’m trying to catch up on everything.  It’s nice to get away but it always feels good to be back home!

While we were away, our puppy Riley went to stay at grandma and grandpa’s house.  So I wanted to make a simple thank-you card for taking care of her.  I was so busy packing and preparing before we left though, that I didn’t get a chance to stamp one.  No problem, I thought…I’ll just take a few things and make one there.  So I cut a few pieces of cardstock, some ribbon, stamped some puppy images and grabbed my Copics, glue and scissors.

I colored the images while I was there and laid the layers of cardstock together with the ribbon on my blue card base.  yuck!  This was so plain.  I had to think of a way to add some interest.  I decided to add an extra fold to the front and make a Z-fold card.  Then I tore some of the layers of cardstock.  I didn’t realize how much I’ve relied on my designer papers, die cuts, etc. lately until I didn’t have them available!  I also realized when I was finished that I forgot to take a sentiment…oops!

I used the Ruffles Party image for the front panel.  Since I didn’t want the balloons on this card, I cut around the image and left those off.  I also used the Ruffles Birdwatching image on the inside of the card.  This image was cut apart as well so that the row of chicks would show when the card is closed.   And the Ruffles in the flowers was placed so that it would not show through to the front.

This card turned out rather plain but I like it just as well!  Sometimes it is good to go back to the basics and create something simple, yet stretching yourself to make it a bit fun.

Aren’t these new Helz Cuppleditch images just adorable?  I love them!  You can check out the entire collection that will be coming soon to Stampavie right here.
