joy wood slice

Hello! I have a card to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Wood Backgrounds, Lynzee Script Alpha and Winter Birds stamp sets.

Do you like the wood slice ornaments that are painted? Here I mimicked those by stamping the wood slice image and painting the center black with acrylic paint. I then heat embossed the joy with an alpha set and added a few berries and leaves. This gives the look of the wood ornaments without the bulky slice (and makes it mailable!).

Have a great day!

doves of peace

Good morning! I have 2 cards to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Doves of Peace stamp set. I also used Texture Tiles 3 and Thrill of Hope.

I thought the texture stamp on the first card would be a perfect background to mimic the water used in baptism.

The second card is a CAS Christmas card because we all need a little “quick & easy” during the holidays! Here I simply heat embossed the images in white and added a silver strip to the left.

Have a great day!

Truckin’ Through the Seasons notepad tin

Quite a few years ago these tins were popular to decorate and place a Staples note pad inside. They are approx. 5×7 and I still have a stack of them in my basement…anyone else? lol. I recently needed to make a small gift and I couldn’t find what I needed for the project I had planned…so I looked around for another idea and found these tins.

I decided to create it as a Christmas notepad tin and I immediately knew I wanted to use the cute truck die! It’s the Spellbinders October 2018 Large Die of the Month- Truckin’ Through the Seasons die set. And it’s awesome! I also wanted to pair it with the buffalo plaid that is so popular right now. This one is Concord & 9th Plaid Background. The sentiment is from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Home for the Holidays set. I added some Crystal Effects to the window and embossed the trees with a Buffalo Plaid embossing folder!

Inside the tin I added a pocket on the left (which I inserted a little die to add with the gift) and above it I attached the December calendar with removable tape (so it can be switched out).

The little truck is so cute, it will be fun to use in other seasons too!

Oh snap!

Good morning! How are we already a week into December? Yikes! I have 2 cards to share today using the Sweet ‘n Sassy Christmas Cookies and Sunshine Girl Alpha sets and the December Stamp of the Month: Wood Backgrounds set.

This wood slice background is a lot of fun! I already made 2 cards and have a few other ideas to try. Here I simply paired it with 2 images from Christmas Cookies. I used a white pen to “decorate” them.

For my second card with the cookies, I stamped and colored the gingerbread man, then cut him out. I cut pieces off his arm and leg and glued some bits beside him. The sentiment uses Sunshine Girl Alpha.

I have 2 cards to share today using the SNSS Winter Wonderland set. This set is so versatile with a ton of possibilities! I first used a snowflake patterned paper for the background, then stamped the tiny tree in the hand of the snowman.

Next, I used the snow globe and placed the church inside. This one has bright, fun colors. Both cards have some Stickles added to sparkle.

In The Meadow ATC Coin

Good morning! Today I have a little different project using some Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps. But before I get to it, remember to check out the current SNSS special for the November birthday release!

You may be familiar with the ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) which are 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ but a fun new trend is to make ATC Coins which are 2 1/2″ circles. Here’s my first one that I created for a swap.

I started by designing some word art in Photoshop and I incorporated my Snowman With Skates digital image. After printing them out, I punched them with a 2 1/2″ circle punch. Then I applied some masking fluid to the snowman to resist the Jane Davenport watercolors I added after the masking fluid was dry. The masking fluid was then carefully rubbed off. I used stamps from Thrill of Hope and Texture Tiles 1 with 2 shades of blue ink. The snowman was colored with Copics and some Wink of Stella made him sparkle.

If you haven’t tried the ATC Coins yet, they are a lot of fun!

Have a great day!

Cocoa’s Cups

Hello friends! We are in the midst of some home remodeling and I’ve neglected my blog the past two weeks but today I have two cards to share using some Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps from the November birthday release. SNSS has TWO special throwback sets this month. Here I used Cocoa’s Cups. They are also celebrating their 11th anniversary with various weekly specials. This week you can save 11% on the Creative Worship and digital products.

My first card has an open middle in the card front with my image panel bridging the top and bottom sections and holding the bottom in place. I was reminded of this design and inspired by a card Michelle Zindorf had recently done. On this card I also used the Texture Tiles 4 set to create the plaid backgrounds.

The coffee cup was paper pieced with some coordinating paper scraps from my stash.

A few flakes, gemstones, and enamel dots finish it off. This is such a fun card design!

For my second card, I decided to create a shaker. Here I also used the Chunky Lowercase Alpha.

Noel

Hello! Halloween is only a day away but today I am sharing my last two Christmas cards using Sweet ‘n Sassy stamps from the October Release. Here I used Thrill of Hope and Texture Tiles 4.

The first card is CAS with some ink sponging on the background. Some snowflakes were stamped in black and others with blue ink.

I stamped the tree line monochromatic on the second card and the deer were stamped over a scrap of plaid from Texture Tiles 4 which was left over from another project. Love those deer!
