Scor-Pal hops with MFT!

Hello!  Today the Scor-Pal design team is blog hopping with our friends from My Favorite Things!  Fun, fun!  I can’t wait to see what everyone created!

I have 2 projects to share today combining these great products.  The first one is a round Tent Card.  I’ve made tent cards before but I was inspired by my friend Bev to make a round one…and I loved how she created a pocket on the back for a message so I made a pocket on mine too.  I think I need to do that more.  :0)  Here’s her lovely card that inspired me.

I had several friends that I wanted to send a card to, so I actually made 4 of these…

I chose to use an adorable Pure Innocence image called Because You’re Special.  Her dress was perfect for paper piecing.  I also used MFT’s Die-Namics Vintage Flourish and Prima Donna Petals.  The butterfly inside the window was also paper pieced and the wings were lightly lifted…

Here’s a side view of the mountain and valley folded piece attached to the inside.  Very simple and super easy to score with the Scor-Pal!  I started with a piece of 1 3/4″ x 2″ cardstock.  Score the 2″ side @ 1/2″, 1″, and 1 1/2″.

And the back has a cute pocket with a tiny tag…just large enough for a simple message to tuck inside.

Next I made a card with MFT’s Fred Bear.  I ♥ this bear!  This one is called Oopsie Daisy

Fred Bear was die cut with the Die-Namics Oval Open Scallop Doily.  I also used the Wonky Scallop Border die and the Prima Donna Petals to make the flower.

On my yellow gingham checked paper, I diagonally scored lines every 1/4″ in both directions with the Scor-Pal to give the patterned paper some texture.

Here’s the inside.  I always liked the “If friends were flowers…” sentiment, but I adore the “Every Single Time” sentiment in this set!

That’s it from me…now hop on over to the Scor-Pal blog for a list of all the participants and to find out about a prize give-away!

crafting with Glue Arts

This week the Scor-Pal Team is crafting with Glue Arts products and today I’m sharing my project with you.  Yes, I know we are way past spring and blooming trees, but I couldn’t help but use some of these fun Jillibean Soup papers again!

I used the Glue Arts U Cut It 3D adhesive foam to diecut the top of the tree and the cloud.  I literally said “Wow!” when the foam popped right out!  It is so cool how easily the dies cut so cleanly through the foam…fun!

The foam has adhesive on both sides so it’s super easy to cover one side with glitter, etc.  I decided to use some of my long-neglected Flower Soft on the diecuts.  I used Spring on the treetop and Polar White to make a fluffy white cloud.  I also used one of the Raisen’s adhesive squares to attach the sentiment so it pops slightly off the cardfront.

Below you can see how I used my Scor-Pal to create 1″ grid lines on the white layer.  These made it super easy to place the patterned papers (7/8″ squares) just where I wanted them.  It also gives the card a little more texture.

You know I love my Scor-Pal and the Glue Arts products get 2 thumbs up.  U Cut It foam = fun stuff!

a spring swing

Of all the stamps that My Favorite Things has, the Pure Innocence line is one of my favorites.  I only own two or three MFT stamps and a few dies but I really like the quality and hopefully will acquire a few more.

I’m sure this image has to be one of their top sellers…it’s just too darn cute!

And here’s the inside… so simple but it’s a nice surprise to open a card and see the inside decorated to match the front.

Have a great day!

pure innocence

…are finally in da house!  I only purchased 2 of these cute girls for now but I’m sure there will be more.  😉

Last week I received these in the mail from Jacksonbelle Embellishments (thanks for the quick shipping, Lindsey!) and I’ve just now had a chance to share the first card I’ve made.

I used some Basic Grey Origins papers here.  At first I wasn’t sure if they’d be too dark for this sweet image but I think it turned out just fine.  I also stamped her onto the envelope and colored lightly with Copics.  (be sure to place some scrap paper inside the envy while coloring to avoid the ink from bleeding through to the back).

I didn’t add very much in the way of embellishments since the patterns were so “busy”.

Here’s a close up of the paper pieced dress…that was a “take your glasses off” kind of cutting there.  LOL.  It was pretty hard to see the lines stamped in black on dark paper!

And here’s a pic of the inside of the card.  You can also see how I used a leftover scrap of dp to line the top inside of the envy to match.
