a kid’s Christmas

I had a bit of a break this past weekend so I pulled my Christmas papers back out and got my August cards done.  It makes me so happy to know that I am up to 39 cards now that are ready to send!  This month for the DD and Alumni Christmas Card challenge, Stacy said to use any image with kids, for kids, or about kids.  I immediately thought of this Flourishes silhouette set.

The top image was embossed with black e.p. on patterned paper and the bottom image was stamped Tone on Tone.  Some clear Stickles were added to the tree lights and black Stickles was added to the popped up star.

Summer is winding down and school will soon be back in full swing.  I could really use a few more weeks of summer…how about you?  🙂

lovey dovey challenge

I am squeaking in again at the end of the month with my February card for the SCS Dirty Dozen & Alumni Christmas card challenge.  This month we were  challenged to get “Lovey Dovey”.  I made a set of 4 cards like this…

The stamps (Flourishes- Doves and Holly), KaiserCraft Silent Night paper, and ribbon were all a gift…thanks, Stacy!  The card base and image are a shimmery ivory cardstock, unable to see in the photo but nice in real life.

Want to join us and get a head start on your Christmas cards?  Use your favorite dove images, make a special card for a loved one or even the theme of love such as mistletoe or the kissing technique is allowed.  Be creative!  And when you are done, use the keyword SCSCCFEB12 when you upload to the SCS gallery.

a holiday hi

5 days and counting… I ♥ the Christmas season!

Just popping in quick to share some of this year’s cards.  The first one has an image from the Flourishes set, A Season of Celebrations

The second card uses a few snowflake punches…

And my last card today is almost an exact case of one done by Jill Hilliard.  I came across her card once (probably on SCS?) and just loved the colors and style!  I did a quick search and here’s her blog if you want to check out more.

Hope your week is stress free!

Flourishes Limelight!

Hello and happy Sunday!  I hope you are having a great weekend!

I was recently asked to make a project combining the Scor-Pal and Flourishes rubber stamps…and today is my day in the Flourishes Limelight!  How cool is that?

I decided to make a few Half Window Cards and a matching Card Box to store them in.  The Flourishes site is chock full of lovely images!  But the silhouette images caught my eye and so I chose to play with those.  This boxed set of Christmas cards uses a new release from Flourishes called A Season Of Celebrations.  Here’s the finished box…

The image and words were stamped with light brown ink onto kraft cardstock.  Patterned paper and ribbon were added, then I repeatedly stamped a sentiment around the edge of the box lid…

Inside, the box holds a matching set of cards…

It has been several years since I used my Coluzzle cutting system but it was fun to pull it out again!  Here a half circle is cut into the front card panel, then the card front is scored and folded back.

When opened, the inside reveals another cute image and sentiment from the same stamp set.  I added some Burgundy Stickles to various places on the card, including the string of lights the children are hanging onto the tree.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks so much to Flourishes for the opportunity to have fun with this set!
