Snow Friends sneak peek & blog candy!

snow-friends-1-diane-zechman.jpgDid you notice my new blog banner?  All That Scraps is gearing up for another new release and the sneak peeks started yesterday with Amy’s new sets!  I will have a sample of Amy’s sets soon…(the new puppy is getting a lot of our attention right now!)  LOL.  She’s just the cutest!  Anyway, the images on my banner are from these two cards I made with my new set called Snow Friends!  There are 3 snowman images, a few flakes and a bunch of fun sayings.

This first card uses my favorite image.  I kept picturing in my mind a snowman with no nose, and a little rabbit friend who shares his carrot.  I thought it turned out kinda cute.  :0)  I hope you like it too!  The third image which I haven’t shown here has a snowman with a polar bear friend.

Both of these cards started with a kraft card base.  Then the snowflakes were stamped and the edges were inked with a white craft inkpad.  The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.

snow-friends-2-diane-zechman.jpgHere’s the recipe:

stamps- Snow Friends by Cookie Crumbs; paper- Kraft, Pomegranate, Bayou, dp- SU! Kraft; ink- Memento Black; accessories- Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, Nestabilities, sewing machine.

Be sure to check out the ATS blog and gallery for more samples of this set and the other new releases!  As I mentioned, Amy has 2 new sets which are called Wedding and Love Sentiments.  And Christine has 2 sweet sets and 2 sets of adorable digi downloads that will pre-view in the next few days.  They will all be available (including this Snow Friends set) on Monday, January 5 at 10 pm!

Now, how about some blog candy?  If you would like a chance to win this set, just reply to this post and tell me which card is your favorite…the pink or the blue?  I’ll use Random.org to pick a winner Sunday night.

my new cupcake set!…and blog candy!

cupcake-occasions-1-diane-zechman.jpgIt’s time again for some new release sneak peeks at All That Scraps!  This month there are a bunch of new sets and they will be available to purchase Monday night, Nov. 10.  Go check out the blog…2 sets have already been previewed and there will be a new one each day.

Today I get to share my second set, Cupcake Occasions!  :0)  There are two cupcake bottoms and a bunch of cupcake tops to put together and create a cupcake for lots of holidays & occasions!  (There’s even a turkey for Thanksgiving!)  :0)    **read to the end of this post to see how you can win some blog candy!

This first pic shows the cupcake top I made for Valentine’s Day.  Here I paired it with two of the sentiments to make a general “you’re sweet” card.  The little cupcake on the ribbon is a Martha Stewart punch.

cupcake-box-diane-zechman.jpgNext, I decorated one of the cupcake boxes that Christine got in the store.  Aren’t they cute?  They come in a few sizes for regular, mini or jumbo cupcakes.

There are two candles in my cupcake set and I placed them together on a clear block, then stamped a row around the middle of the box.  The candles were colored with Copic markers (I pulled a few colors from the patterned paper) and I added a few dots here and there with a black pen.  The bottom was then covered with some K & Company patterned paper that I found last year at Target.

cupcake-box-lid-diane-zechman.jpgI tried to get a good pic of the box top so you can see the shimmer on the cupcake but I had a difficult time with the photo.  I stamped the cupcake onto the clear window with Stazon ink.  Then I painted it from the inside with Shimmerz paints (they dry on glass, plastic, etc!).  I doodled around the edge and added my sentiment with a few brads.  Very easy project!

Don’t forget to check out the ATS blog and gallery for more samples of Cupcake Occasions and the other new releases!

ATS goes prehistoric & blog candy winner!

Before I announce the winner of my blog candy (my very first set, Annabelle), I want to say how much I appreciate all of your comments and support!  It means a great deal to me.  I have the best friends!  thankyou.gif

Now for the winner….. hmmm…I’m not sure why it won’t let me copy and paste the number this time…but…

Michelle (MilwaukeeMommy)….it’s you!  Please contact me with your info!  :0)

And now….I have a card to share introducing the other C.C. Designs set to be released this month- Eric and Chrissy Go Prehistic!  This set, along with the other new sets will be available tomorrow night at ATS

go-prehistoric-1-diane-zechman.jpgDoes this bone make my butt look big?  Ha Ha!  One of the fun things about designing for Christine is that she sometimes allows us to give our input.  Well, it was late one night…very late…when I was online.  And I guess I was tired and a bit silly when I suggested the phrase.  LOL.  But I’m so glad she included it because it totally cracks me up!  Sometimes we just need a “feel good, no certain reason for sending” type of card, right?  ;0)

This set includes Eric, Chrissy (shown here), 2 dinos, a volcano, a tree, some rocks and bones, and 6 phrases.  Definitely a fun set!

I colored Chrissy in a pink dress and set out to find some fun paper to use with her.  This dp is from Die Cuts With A View and is super sparkly!  So I added some Stickles to all 3 bones and made them sparkle too.  The main image was cut with the Fiskars circle cutter.  Then I layered it onto the pink and trimmed that with some Fiskars scissors.

stamps- Eric and Chrissy Go Prehistoric- C.C. Designs

paper- Prismatics cs, White, Pixie, Saffron, dp- DCWV

ink- Black

accessories- Fiskars Scallop Scissors, Word Window punch, gel pen, button, Copic markers, Stickles, SU! flower punch, Fiskars circle cutter

very exciting news and blog candy!

Hello!   anim_vinkko.gif  I have been so excited to share some news with you all and today is the day!  Yay!

On Tuesday, October 7, C.C. Designs will be releasing my very first stamp set!  Actually, there will be a stamp set and a big background stamp!  :0)  eeek!  I can hardly wait!

I needed to come up with a name and I just couldn’t think of anything except to go with the “cookies” theme I started a long time ago.  So I decided on Cookie Crumbs.  And I want to thank Julie for surprising me with a logo….what do you think?  Isn’t it cute?

cookie-crumbs-logo-green.jpg

When Christine asked, I jumped at the chance!  How fun this would be!  My first set is called Annabelle.  It includes two cow images, some fun accessories, and a bunch of cow related sayings.  Here’s one project that I made….a milk carton with a stack of Oreo cookies inside.  (Sorry…I only had Halloween Oreos when I took the photos!  LOL.)  This milk carton template was shared with me by Inge and can be found here.   Thanks, Inge!

cownt-on-you-diane-zechman.jpgThis card previews the Cow Print background and another image of Annabelle.  Her purse and shoes are plain on the stamp but I thought it would be fun to color them with a matching cow print.  ;0)  I added the flowers in her hand and there are a few other images in the set that can be used as well.  The background was heat embossed with black embossing powder.

ATS Review Preview and Blog Candy!

eeek-eeek-eeek-diane-zechman.jpg It’s Review Preview Friday again at All That Scraps!  Today we are reviewing the newly released set Spooky Spooky Spooky!  Lucky sure looks like he was spooked in this image, doesn’t he?  He’s so cute!  I decided to only give him a few brown spots this time and leave the rest of his fur uncolored.  The right side of the card was punched with the SU! Scallop Edge punch and dotted with black Stickles.  I also applied Stickles to the bat wings, the edge of the ribbon and a dot on the circles.  The paper is from KI Memories and the ribbon was found at Michaels last year.

Don’t forget to check out all of the other samples on the ATS blog and in the ATS gallery.

Jeni, that’s you!  Please contact me with your address!

Thanks to everyone for your comments!  I think I only had one question e-mailed to me, so I decided to answer it here as well.  Here’s part of the comment:

“I love your cards and the monkeys are so Cute. Do you prefer mounted or unmounted? Are the unmounted the clear acrylic?”

I used to prefer mounted stamps but since I have been working with the Whipper Snapper,  C.C. Designs unmounted stamps and a few others, my opinion has changed a little.  I really can’t say that I now prefer one over the other.  I enjoy both!  I still enjoy the feel of wood mounts and like the fact that they are ready to go.  But I’ve also come to enjoy the versatility of the unmounteds and it only takes a second to stick them on a clear block.  I have also been pleased with the improvement in the quality of clear acrylics over the years.

The C.C. Designs images that I use are unmounted red rubber with a black cling backing.  They are deeply etched and I have been very pleased with the quality.  And Christine has great shipping charges!  The Stampavie images that I just received are clear acrylic and I was very pleased with the quality of those as well!  I would honestly recommend both without hesitation.

Now…on to today’s project!  🙂

vases-spring-flowers-diane-zechman.jpgLast night I worked on some unfinished projects that kept getting shoved aside.  This one is a simple 4 1/4″ square card using the SU! Vases in Vogue set and some retired papers.  The vase was masked to stamp the small flowers and then paper pieced.  The large flower was cut out and popped up.  I hand drew the stem for the large flower and added lots of doodling.  After it was assembled I still felt it was lacking something in the lower left corner so I added a few dots of Liquid Pearls

Have a great week & stay cool!

stamps- Vases in Vogue

paper- Spring Flowers dp, Moss, non-SU

ink- Black, Banana, Cameo, Moss

accessories- Small Oval punch, Liquid Pearls

a monkey journal & blogiversary candy!

monkey-journal-diane-zechman.jpgHi everyone!  I can’t believe that 1 year of blogging has passed by already!  To celebrate I made this journal with the C.C. Designs Summertime Fun and Sweet Treats sets.  I love the sentiment!  Life has it’s ups & downs but it sure can be sweet too! birthday-mouse.gif  Yes, I know…there’s too many candles on that cake!  LOL.  Hmmm…..that gets me in a baking mood.

I actually made 3 of these journals and I’m donating another one soon over at SCS.  More info. on that later.  I picked the journals and matching ribbon up at Michael’s a year or so ago and I’ve just pulled them out to alter them.  Sound familiar?  LOL.  I used the circle Nestabilities on them and the image was colored with Copic markers.

1-yr-blogiversary-diane-zechman.jpgI appreciate all of your comments and visits the past year, so I put together the blog candy shown here including the journal to say “thank you” for stopping by!  All you need to do is reply to this post and tell me what you enjoy about my blog, what you would like to see, or ask any questions that you might have.  I really appreciate the feedback!  I’ll use random.org to pick a winner on Monday.
