caught a bug?

There’s been a lot of “the bug” going around this year.  I’m thankful I escaped it so far (knocking on wood!)  Several of my friends caught it though and I really could have used this card…I guess I’ll be ready for next year!

I was playing around again with one of my old Cookie Crumbs sets…this one is also from the Get Well Critters.  Here’s a close up…

Gosh, I still love that set!  Happy Sunday!  Have a great start to the week!

snowman hugs

Hope you all are having a nice, relaxing Sunday!  Today I have another card for our Challenge Chicks January challenge- snowmen!  I was also inspired by a few friends to make these cards.  Korin inspired me with a CAS sketch she used and Lydia gave me the itch to create something blue!

I pulled out another one of my retired sets here.  This one is the Cookie Crumbs- Warm Cocoa Wishes.  I tried putting Liquid Applique and a puffy paint pen on these but when I heated them, my marshmallows turned kind-of lumpy and messy.  lol.  As long as it tastes good, right?  😉

Gosh, I love paper piecing.  Just had to piece the mug, scarf, and mittens!  Stay warm!

stamps- Cookie Crumbs- Warm Cocoa Wishes; paper- white, SU! Baja Breeze, Heidi Grace- Frost Blvd/Crystal Snow; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Baja Breeze; accessories- corner rounder, dimensionals, Copics, Liquid Applique.

how much is that doggie in the window?

ruff ruff… OK, admit it…you are singing along with me, right?  ;^)

Just popping in with a quick CAS card to {hopefully} cheer a friend.  Sometimes a little clean humor is necessary, right?

Some of you may remember that I had my own line of stamps a few years ago called Cookie Crumbs.  The stamps used here are from a set called Get Well Critters.  They have been retired but I have missed using them, so you may see a card or two pop up here now and then.

I diecut a window with Octagon Nestabilities and stamped the puppy on the inside of the card.  Some Crystal Effects was added to the “wet spot”.  😉

Have a great evening!

sweet treats

HAPPY NEW YEAR, my friends!  2011 came way too quickly, but it’s here nonetheless!  I hope it’s a good one for all of you!

I have another project to share today with AmyR’s new Critter sentiments set.  This time I used it with the bird from my Valentine Critters.

I made a little box, 2-4-6-8 style, with my new Scor-Pal.  Except this time I scored it at 2, 5, 7, and 10 inches.  The piece I started with measured 5 1/2 x 11.  And three of the sides were embossed which can’t be seen very well in the pic…sorry!

I was planning to stamp the sentiment on the white layer but then I realized that it fit perfectly inside the small cloud die.  Fun!

Do you have any New Year’s day traditions?  Every year since, well…forever…LOL… we have pork & sauerkraut on New Year’s day.  It’s supposed to bring good luck…so why mess with tradition, huh?  😉   Have a great start to the new year!

purr-fect day

Good morning!  Today I have a card that previews AmyR’s new sentiment set…Critter Sentiments.  I paired up two stamps in the set with my own kitty from Valentine Critters.

Short post today…but I’ll be back tomorrow with another project using these same sets.  Check out the other samples on the ATS blog and have a SAFE and HAPPY new year’s eve!

key to my heart

Today at All That Scraps we are starting the previews of the new sets for January.  Wow…that sounds strange, doesn’t it?  I can’t believe the holiday is over and it will soon be January!  Good things are around the corner, though, like this sweet new Key & Lock stamp set and a co-ordinating set of C.C. Cutter dies!

I made 2 cards and this first one is my favorite…

On the second card I made, I used the new C.C. Cutter die.  It has 3 keys and a lock and they are all attached so that they can easily be taken apart if desired.  I snapped my set apart and stored them in a small baggie.

Here’s a close up of the dies I used.  They look great with metallic cardstock.

Be sure to check out all the sneaks this week on the ATS blog!

Cutter die (key and heart lock), brads, ribbon, Liquid Pearls, pop dots.

6 x 6 frosting recipes

This is my last pic to share from the stamping event last Saturday.  I usually join the recipe swap for a couple of reasons.

1. I like to try new recipes and the best ones are usually shared by friends, kwim?

2. It keeps me on my toes to get my family’s favorite recipes scrapped.

3. I love to see how creative the cards can be…some are just amazing!

The recipe card I chose to make this time was simply of my favorite frostings.

I kept it fairly simple and stuck with pink and red.  The card base is Confetti White to hopefully resemble a confetti cake.

I made the chocolate peanut butter frosting this weekend…yum!  I think I’ll go have a piece.  😉

stamps- SU! The More The Merrier, Cookie Crumbs Time For Cake; paper- Confetti White, pink, red; ink- Memento Black; accessories- Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch, SU! Oval punch, circle punch, Copics, pop dots, Stickles, Crystal Effects.

another Vera Bradley card

You may remember this card that I made for my friend’s daughter for her bridal shower.  Recently I recycled some more of the Vera Bradley invite to make another card for their wedding day.

My friend saw this beautiful card and loved it, so it became my inspiration.  I have a hard time adding pins to my cards (afraid someone will get poked, I guess) but since this was for such a special occasion and it was not going in the mail I decided it would be perfect.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow…I will have a special post with my second video tutorial.  I made a little something extra for the wedding.  😉

stamps- Special Day by Cookie Crumbs; paper- Lavendar Lace, white, recycled Vera Bradley invite; ink- Memento Black; accessories- QuicKutz Retro Diamonds folder, Martha Stewart mini-hearts punch, pearls, pin, ribbon, SU! Wide Oval punch.

a Vera Bradley bride

Get your sunglasses out!  ’cause it’s a bright one today!  ;^)

On Saturday I attended a bridal shower for my good friend’s daughter.  She fell in love with this Vera Bradley pattern and is using the colors in her wedding.  The bridal shower invite was sent with the same pattern on the invitations so when I received it, I carefully removed the pretty lining from the envelope and recycled it on this card.

I used the bouquet image from my own set, Special Day.  Some stitching and embellishments finished the card.  I tried to let most of the paper shine through and I think the bride was happy with it!

have a chirpy day!

Thanks for the well wishes!  I am still not back to normal and I’m patiently waiting to get into the ENT dept.  sigh.

But at least I have felt up to some stamping the past few days…that always cheers ya up!  😉  I missed the review preview over at All That Scraps for my new set…For The Birds.  Check out the great cards the DT made!  I am a bit late, but here’s the card I made.  I love how it turned out!  (I think I am now addicted to pinking scissors on craft cardstock.  LOL)

I also drug out my sewing machine which hasn’t seen the light of day for too long!  I ♥ to sew on cards so this was definitely a pick-me-up to my spirits lately.

I hope you have a chirpy day!
