Welcome to the CC Designs Sugarplums Christmas Kit Blog Hop!

Today the All That Scraps Design Team is presenting the CC Designs Sugarplums Christmas Kit with a blog hop.  This is just a taste of the sweet Christmas creating you can do with these adorable stamps!

The hop starts on the All That Scraps Blog – HERE.  If you’ve arrived from Tori’s blog, you’re on the right track!

We’re so glad you hopped in and here’s what you want to know!!!  The CC Designs Sugarplums Christmas Kit release date is October 1 -15 (as a kit) and then the images will be released individually on November 1st.

I made 2 simple cards to share with you today, because I am usually running out of time to get my Christmas cards done and I need some quick and easy ideas to crank them out!  Here’s my first card using the Sugarplums Christmas Candle image…

There’s minimal coloring here to keep it simple.  The added felt ribbon and flower give just enough texture and dimension.  There’s also a tiny bit of Stickles on the flame.

Next I used the Sugarplums Christmas Ornaments image.  Again, there is minimal coloring here and this time I used one of my fave techniques again…paper piecing.

Be sure to visit all the blogs and comment, comment, comment!  The prize will be a random draw from all the blogs on the hop for a $20 gift certificate to All That Scraps.com.  This is your last stop on the hop.  I hope you enjoyed the samples along the way and thanks for stopping by!

Wow, we’ve had some warm weather again…nice!  I love fall weather…nice days, cool nights.

And the weather has me thinking about pumpkins…I need to get a few!  But until then, I’ll have to settle for some paper pumpkins.  :^)

And isn’t this pair the cutest?  They’re from the Swiss Pixie collection at All That Scraps.

I love to paper piece and so I thought….why not??  LOL.  Have you seen those white pumpkins?  How cute would they be painted with polka dots and plaid??  Ha!  hmmm….

take a seat…take 2

Hello!  Today All That Scraps is reviewing the Take A Seat stamp set and this is my second card with it.  This time I used the Pretty Emma image along with the wagon.

It will soon be fall weather here so I pulled out my DCWV Indian Summer stack.  The images were colored with Copics and the colors were drawn from the paper.  I didn’t have the exact color of purple I needed for her sweater though, so I colored one shade over top of another….I used R35 first and then V04.  And for her green top and socks I did the same, using G82 and then YG23 over top to warm the green up a bit.  Don’t be afraid to experiment with your colors!

I also used the new EK Success Leaf Chain punch…love it!  And I cut out one of the maple leaves to accent with a button.

Don’t miss this set of stamps….they’re only available until September 20th at 35% off!

stamps- C.C. Designs Take A Seat and AmyR Spring Sentiments; paper- DCWV Indian Summer, white, Bermuda Bay; ink- Memento Black, Distress Vintage Photo; accessories- Copics, Labels 11 Nestabilities, EK Success Leaf Chain punch, button, thread, glue dot.

flower power notepad

Just catching up with another pic in my files.  I needed a little notebook a few weeks ago and the request was to have a monkey on it.  I immediately thought of the super cute C.C. Designs monkey.  This one is from the Flower Power set.  It is available in rubber as well as digital form.

Not much to say here except the felt flowers came from JoAnn’s.  Notepads are fun to alter…so many ways to decorate them!

Have a great day…gotta love short weeks!  It’s almost the weekend, folks!

stamps- Flower Power by C.C. Designs, Stamp Craft Dot Alphabet; paper- white, Tangerine, Mambo; ink- Memento Black, SU! Basic Brown, Saffron; accessories- Copics, Blossom Nestabilities, SU! Photo Corner punch, felt flowers, brads, clip, ribbon, 3×5 notepad, Stickles.

be a kid again…

Today’s sneak peeks at All That Scraps are of Amy Young’s new Twisted Sisters.  My favorite is Oleander.

I had a hard time deciding what sentiment to use with her!  I am not so good at the “twisted” humor.  LOL.

I finally settled for a few lines that I found online.  They needed to go on the inside left of the card…it was the only place with enough space to put them!  And then I brought some of the same patterned papers to the inside as well.

I hope you have a great weekend!  Have a “way too much sugar on your cereal” kind of day!  😉

I want candy!

Today is my DH and I’s 25th anniversary!  Where does the time go??  I was planning to post the card I am giving him, but…ummm…it’s not quite finished yet.  LOL.  I got side-tracked on a few other projects.  ahem.

Soooo…here’s a card that I do have to share today.  All That Scraps is reviewing the Sweet November Baby Trick Or Treaters and I chose to use the sweet little dragon.  You can see all of today’s review cards on the ATS blog.

I paper pieced his dragon costume and popped him up with dimensionals.  This image is so sweet and reminds me of the dragon costume that I sewed many years ago.  Those sure were fun times!  But I don’t miss having to come up with costumes every year!  LOL.

I knew that I wanted to put something on the ground for him to look at and I found this treat bag image in my stash that did the trick.  I poked a tiny hole on each side and used a needle to insert a piece of thread for a handle.  Then I popped it up as well.  I thought he looked like he had the sweet face of wonder and excitement when you are ready to dump the goods and check out the loot!

Have a great Tuesday!

a Vera Bradley bride

Get your sunglasses out!  ’cause it’s a bright one today!  ;^)

On Saturday I attended a bridal shower for my good friend’s daughter.  She fell in love with this Vera Bradley pattern and is using the colors in her wedding.  The bridal shower invite was sent with the same pattern on the invitations so when I received it, I carefully removed the pretty lining from the envelope and recycled it on this card.

I used the bouquet image from my own set, Special Day.  Some stitching and embellishments finished the card.  I tried to let most of the paper shine through and I think the bride was happy with it!

stamps- Special Day by Cookie Crumbs; paper- Birch, Pretty in Pink, Green Galore, Vera Bradley recycled invite; ink- Memento Black; accessories- Copics, sewing machine, ribbon, Labels 13 Nestabilities, charm, pearls, Stickles, mini roses.

have a chirpy day!

Thanks for the well wishes!  I am still not back to normal and I’m patiently waiting to get into the ENT dept.  sigh.

But at least I have felt up to some stamping the past few days…that always cheers ya up!  😉  I missed the review preview over at All That Scraps for my new set…For The Birds.  Check out the great cards the DT made!  I am a bit late, but here’s the card I made.  I love how it turned out!  (I think I am now addicted to pinking scissors on craft cardstock.  LOL)

I also drug out my sewing machine which hasn’t seen the light of day for too long!  I ♥ to sew on cards so this was definitely a pick-me-up to my spirits lately.

I hope you have a chirpy day!

hello camper!

say-cheese-1-diane-zechman.jpg Just popping in with a quick post tonight.  I have been sick the past week and haven’t felt up to crafting.  🙁  I hope this week is better!

My last post was scheduled ahead of time, so it’s been a while since I’ve popped in here!  Anyway, here’s a simple card I hadn’t shared yet for a boy heading off to camp.  I thought these images from the Say Cheese set would fit the bill.

I wrote the name of his cabin and camp on the sign and I finally got a chance to use the cute PaperTrey Ink cloud dies.

That’s it for tonight…I hope you have a great week!

take a seat

Today at All That Scraps we are starting previews for Christine’s new kit called Take A Seat.  It will be released August 9 and it will only be available until September 20!  They will not be coming out as singles images this time, but you will be able to purchase them in digital as well as rubber.  The price will be 35% off retail, so get ’em while they’re hot!  LOL.

I used the Sitting Trevor image here as well as the Living Room Scene.  Don’t you just love that BIG chair?  Let me tell you, this stamp is huge!  And Trevor looks so dashing in his Sunday best, doesn’t he?  😉

take-a-seat-1-diane-zechman.jpg

The entire background was paper pieced except for the floor.  I drew the boards in with a black pen and then colored it with Copics.  The wall hangings were pieced from a pretty floral paper.  And Trevor’s shirt and pants were paper pieced as well.

Here’s a close-up.
