virtual stamping

The past few weeks I have been doing some “virtual stamping” with friends, playing along with random challenges. It has been a great way to make a bunch of RAK’s to send and also connect with friends I haven’t seen in a while!

Here’s the cards that I made so far. The first photo is for a challenge to use bunnies or flowers and also uses the Scrappy Strip technique for the background. (I honestly didn’t watch the entire video and just winged it. If you want to skip the chit chat, go to the 20 minute mark.) I used the Spellbinders 24 Carrot dies and the following papers: black, white, SU! Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Real Red and Daffodil Delight, Echo Park- Sunny Days Ahead.

This card was for a monochromatic challenge. The images are a free printable from A Jillian Vance Design.

My next card was for a challenge to make a humorous card. I used a free printable by Taylored Expressions for the sentiment and thought it would pair well with Ai’s Maude! The sentiment was cut with Gina Marie’s Scallop Stitched Rectangles. Papers are white, Lemon Lime Twist, Taken With Teal, navy, K&Co. Que Sera Sera.

This CAS card was for a sketch challenge and also using the colors Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Pool Party. I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Birthday Borders and Lots of Love sets with patterned paper scraps (SU! Sycamore Street) to make the cake.

The ladybug card was also for sketch and color challenges, using SU! Little Ladybugs and matching dies. The background panel was embossed with the Subtle e.f. for a little texture. The matching envelope was a third challenge here.

Here’s a card with an older SU! set, Not So Seriously, for another sketch challenge. The paper is Simple Stories- Vintage Bliss.

This next card was actually my first one for the challenges and my least favorite. Next time I would use a lighter background. The challenges here were to use these colors and sketch and make it in 15 minutes. I obviously need more time than that. lol.

This was for 2 challenges (I combined them a lot. lol)… the colors and to make a masculine card. I used SU! Sailing Home and matching dies & paper.

Next card was for a fancy fold card challenge. I chose to make a Square Z-fold card. I used the Sweet ‘n Sassy Tea For Two and Colorbok’s Beach House paper.

Inside is an oval with Die-Namics Stitched Mini Scallop Ovals.

My last cards today were for a sketch challenge. I used the SNSS printable Encouraging Thoughts, Avery Elle Let It Snow Die, Sizzix Wildflower Stems #1, Jane Davenport watercolors, and SU! Square Lattice embossing folder. The flowers were diecut from watercolor paper.

After the watercolored flowers were dry, I added some Wink of Stella.

I am thankful for friends keeping me crafty during this time! Stay safe and have a good week!

mish mash

Hello! Today I am catching up again with a “mish mash” of various cards I haven’t shared. The first two are from 2018 using the Lawn Fawn Critter Concert stamps and dies. The black edge on the first card was made with an old Martha Stewart Cornice Edge punch. The background was masked and sponged.

I used Spellbinders Heart Circles dies on the second card. My sentiment was done on the computer.

The next card is one of my favorite masculine cards and it gets a prize for hanging around without being photographed for so long. lol. I made this in at least 2015! Stamps are SU! By the Tide and Hardwood. The sentiment is an old Sweet ‘n Sassy set, Rhubarb’s Birthday Wish. The tag is watercolor paper. The inks used are Pool Party, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, and Soft Suede. I really need to use that burlap ribbon again!

Here’s another masculine card I recently made with another SU! set…Moon Lake. The sentiment is from Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Keep in Touch, Too. Papers are black, Smoky Slate, and Lost Lagoon. Ink is SU! Basic Gray. I also used the SU! Seaside embossing folder, MISTI, 2″ circle punch, and Die-Namics Cross-Stitch Circles.

I started with 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 2 1/2 and 6 1/2 so it overlaps. The inside…

My next card was for a challenge a few of my friends and I did to use the SU! stamp set Papillon Potpourri. I also used SU! Timeless Textures and SNSS Birthday Greetings. Colors are SU! Mellow Moss, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum and Pale Plum. Others…SU! Lace 3D embossing folder, paper doily, SU! Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches, circle punches.

I also decorated the envelope! The “deliver to” is a wood mount stamp by Printworks (I think it’s from Hobby Lobby).

The poppy thanks card is inspired by one that Bette Manning created. I just changed a few things. The poppies are from the current SU! mini catalog. I loved how she used them with the wreath embossing folder! I also decorated the envelope again.

And my last one today is a 6×6 recipe card. If you never made Buckeye Brownies, you seriously need to!

Have a great day and stay well!

butterfly pop up

Good morning! I have a card today that I made for a stamping day with a few friends. I loved how it turned out! I started by casing a card by Cynthia Maynard and then I added a few more images including the black stripe and sentiment to it. (I can’t seem to find the original card now.) I really like the subtle background with the pop of the butterflies! I used the SU! Butterfly Basics stamp set (still one of my faves) and the Butterflies Thinlits. Only the center of the butterflies is glued down.

When I was finished with the card, I remembered the Lawn Fawn Butterfly Pop Up set of dies that I recently got at my friend’s shop. It was perfect for the inside!

Love that butterfly on the inside!

Have a great day!

a Skele-bration

Happy Halloween! Today’s card is one that I made for a friend who has an October birthday and loves all things Halloween! I put the treat boxes from the SU! September 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit together for my friends and decided to use the same stamp set to make this card. All sentiments were typed and printed from my computer.

The hardest part was masking that one little bone to stamp by the word humerus. lol.

Have a fun & safe Halloween!

Spring & Summer catch up

Good morning! The first day of Autumn was earlier this week but I still have some cards I made through Spring & Summer that I haven’t shared. So today is another catch up day!

My first two cards are made with the Spellbinders You’re My Type Card Kit. Love that typewriter die! The background paper here is Melissa Frances- Pink Lady.

The papers on my second one are from My Mind’s Eye- Hello Gorgeous and The Paper Studio- Be Jeweled and Bloom Boutique.

The Mother’s Day card was created with supplies from the SU! April 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit. (I added a few extras)

Below I used some Melissa Frances Mixed Media Doodles paper and the Simon Says Stamp Circle of Leaves die. I also used the SU! Pansy Punch, Well Written Framelits, and Butterfly Duet punch, along with Martha Stewart frond & hydrangea punches.

Here’s a notecard with the SU! Butterfly Gala stamp set and Butterfly Duet punch. I used Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, and Botanical Butterfly dsp. (The other color in the butterflies is Grapefruit Grove).

The teapot card used SU! Tea Together stamps and matching dies. The pretty die cut background is a Gina Marie Flourish Open Center BKGD die.

And my last card today also uses Gina Marie dies- Wedding Couple BKGD die and MR & MRS Word die.

And…I’m not finished catching up! Be back soon!

swap cards

Hello! A few weeks ago I attended a swap with friends. Here are the two cards I took…one was for a masculine swap and the other was my “shoebox” project that I prepared for everyone to make.

The first card was for the masculine swap I participated in. This was semi-cased from a card by Tina Wardell. The background was masked and sponged. After stamping the boat from the SU! Sailing Home set, I colored it in with a black Sharpie. I also used the High Tide set and the sentiment is from Wonderful Moments. The embossing folder is Darice- Nautical Theme.

For my shoebox project, I used a freebie stamp set from MFT- Jumping Giraffe. I knew I wanted to mount him on an Ai Mini Action Wobble to make him “jump”! I also used the Die-Namics Blueprints 20 and 31 die sets. Since the giraffe was a bit smaller than the action wobble, I first placed him on a orange circle cut with a Spellbinders Pinking Circles die.

Have a great day!

inspired by…

Hi! I’m playing catch-up again today and sharing some cards I made that were inspired by others. Occasionally I will semi-case a card and I like to give credit where it’s due!

My first one is a bridal shower card using SU! Wonderful Moments and inspired by this card by Sissy Hooper. I loved the design but switched out the background for the SU! Country Floral embossing folder. I used a shimmery white cardstock and the side was die cut with the Detailed Floral Thinlits. The cardstock circle behind the sentiment is Blush Blossom.

Next is a card using SU! Home to Roost. I liked the simple coloring on the chicken in my friend Heidi’s second card in this post. I also used some Recollections flowers and wood grain paper.

I happened across two pretty cards by Chris Smith using the SU! Wishing You Well stamp set and they also inspired me. The first one by this card on her blog. I used a quilted embossing folder by We R Memory Keepers and the MFT Stitched Scallop Edges dies.

For my second one I used two different papers & color schemes. They were inspired by her card here. I used The Paper Studio- Ice Cream Parlor and love Nicole- Bouquet of Color papers. The tiny flowers are Impression Obsession 140-D die.

And my last “inspired by” card today is one that I remember from quite some time ago but have no idea where it originated. An awning is created with a punch or die to create a window. Here I used a die from Sizzix Ornate Labels. The cupcake is a Paper Smooches die. (SO cute!)

Have a great day!

bright & cheery

Good morning! Today I am playing catch up. I have several cards I didn’t get around to sharing from 2018. Some I will post later but here’s a quick share of a few with a bit of info on each.

My first card uses the beautiful Altenew Layered Rose die that was a free sample in a Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine a while back. The thanks die is by Echo Park and the Wonky Stitched Ovals die is by Gina Marie. The colors of cardstock I used are black, SU! Coastal Cabana, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Raspberry Ripple, Pear Pizzazz, and Mossy Meadow.

My next card uses the SU! Bird Banter stamp set and the sentiment is from Altenew’s Label Love. The Paper Studio’s Poteeka Birds embossing folder goes great with this set and I love it in the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. A little black branch was added from the SU! Petals & More Thinlits.

This fun flamingo one is a CASE of a card by Amy Koenders using the SU! Fabulous Flamingo set…love it! It uses Flirty Flamingo ink and cardstock of course!

Here’s another card with the Flirty Flamingo ink and cardstock, along with some gold paper and a gold strip of washi tape. This could be for any occasion but it was a congratulations on an engagement card. Stamps are from the SU! July 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit- What a Gem.

The butterfly card was inspired by the talented Kittie Caracciolo. I used SU!’s Watercolor Wings stamp set and Bold Butterfly Framelits. The dies are Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Circles and Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles. I also used the Martha Stewart Frond and Hydrangea punches. The butterfly was stamped with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Real Red inks.

My daughter was attending a wedding of some motorcycle enthusiasts and asked me to make her a card. This was a clip art image I found online and I just added a simple stamped sentiment.

And my last card is a CAS sympathy card…not a bright card this time but rather done in softer colors. I used a Park Lane Tree embossing folder and Martha Stewart Royal Butterfly punch. The sentiment is from SU! Love & Sympathy.

Thanks for popping in….have a great day!

needle & thread

Hello! Once again I am behind on sharing some of the “just for fun” cards I’ve made. Here’s one that I made this week using the SU! Needle & Thread stamp set and the Needlepoint Elements coordinating dies. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Needlepoint Nook pack of dsp and started my card off with that Flirty Flamingo color.

I also added some flowers in Berry Burst and some leaves in Pear Pizzazz. A little Old Olive twine was added to the die cut sentiment.

I love decorating the envelopes to match but most of the time I forget to! I think I might keep a few handy in my tool caddy to help me remember. Anyway, this time I did pull an envelope out and stamped it to match.

Have a great night!

hello cupcake!

Last week I received the new Stampin’ Up! Hello Cupcake set (free during SAB) and I was happy last night to find time to make a few cards. I liked this set at first sight but after using it, I LOVE this set! Love the whimsical style so much that I made three cards.

Here’s the first. I added half of a lace doily and some Lemon Lime Twist ribbon.

I added the same ribbon to my second card. I was inspired by Bonnie O’Neill to cut half of the front off and use it for the layered panel. I cut the front at 2 3/4″.

The frosting is popped up.

For my third card, I wanted to mask the middle cupcake and add two more. The middle frosting and sentiment are popped up.

stamps- SU! Hello Cupcake; paper- white, SU! Lavendar Lace and Lemon Lime Twist, The Paper Studio- Harper’s Boutique and Ice Cream Parlor; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip, Pixie Pink, Lavander Lace, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo, Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo; accessories- Circle Nestabilities, foam dimensionals, Stickles, MFT Die-Namics Stitched Rectangle Frames, SU! Scalloped Oval punch.
