birthday bunch

Happy Friday! Today I am catching up with nine of my favorites from the past year that were hanging out in my files…a bunch of birthday cards! These cards were not made for a company design team and just hadn’t been shared yet. It’s another photo heavy post today!

My first card was for a dinosaur-loving girl who turned 7. I used MFT‘s A-roar-able Friends and Lawn Fawn’s Platform Pop-Up Dies. The platform card folds flat for placing into an envelope. Strips of clear acetate were used to attach a few of the elements.

For the mini slim birthday cake card, I used… Spellbinders Stitched Fringe Cake Dies, Taylored Expressions Happy Birthday Banner and Skinny Mini Party Borders Dies, Sizzix Bold Flora Dies, and SU! Scattered Sequins embossing folder. Each cake layer was stitched by hand with white thread.

My next two cards were made in the same style, with the top half of the card front cut away. (Cut the top of the card front @ 2 3/4″) This piece is then turned 1/4 turn and adhered to the bottom front. So, for the center front layers on the first card… the black is 2 3/4 x 4 1/4, the green is 2 1/2 x 4, and the white is 2 1/4 x 3 3/4. The inside white layer is 2 1/2 x 4. Add additional cardstock and patterned paper layers as desired. Here I used SU! Artistically Inked Bundle, and Expressions in Ink dsp and Ephemera (gold foliage), plus a gold bee charm.

The masculine version was made the same way, using SU! Seaside Bay and coordinating papers.

A beautiful paper napkin was applied to the following card front for a pretty floral background. Then I used Lawn Fawn’s Pop-Up Bee Dies and You’re a Keeper stamp set to create this sweet pop-up card. LOVE the bee dies!! This card is so cute in person. I only wish I had made those wings sparkly!

Another masculine card, this one’s for a sushi lover. I used Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Roll and Sizzix Tropicool Slider Card Dies. The Sushi pops up and reveals the greeting inside as the top is pulled.

How cute are these two from the MFT Sweater Weather- In the Woods set? I kept this card CAS and spot-lighted them with some plaid circles. I followed the MFTWSC498 sketch.

Pink & Main has some terrific stamps…this is from the Beach Unicorn set. I also used the Waves Border Dies. You can see some of the glitter sparkle in the second photo.

And last for today, I was asked to make a strawberry themed birthday card for a little girl turning one. I used the Altenew Mega Number 1 die and SU! Sweet Strawberry bundle.

Have a great weekend!

baby banners

Hello! I have some baby name banners to share today that I recently made. Click on each image to see a larger photo.

The first is for a baby boy, Carsten, and the shower/nursery theme is classic storybooks. I used some Momenta banner dies, the WeR Memory Keepers Alphabet Punch Board, and various character images that I printed off the internet. The backgrounds on each banner flag are old book pages from a Caps for Sale book that a friend was going to toss. The flags were strung onto twine and wooden beads were placed between each one.

The second banner is for a baby girl, Elora. I started with a flower and ribbon banner from Hobby Lobby and added the flags cut with the same set of dies (these were smaller). The pink layers were embossed with a Park Lane- Bloom embossing folder from JoAnn’s. Then I added some die-cut papers left over from a previous project and some punched flowers. I added some Stickles to the letters made with Altenew Bold Alphabet dies to make them sparkle and stand out.

Banners are fun to make and personalize for each recipient…try one!

lots of thanks

Today I am sharing a bunch of thank you cards that I made for the companies who donated to our all-day stamping event, the 7th annual NEPA Stamp & Swap. These companies were all SO very generous and helped to make our event a fun, successful one! Since we had quite a few donations this past year, I kept the cards pretty simple. I’ve added the cards in ABC order…lol, I can’t choose a favorite!

The first card was for Art Impressions, using one of their sweet freebie stamps. Bonnie designs the cutest images for those! I placed him on a gate-fold card with some MFT paper.

My second card is using the Altenew Extra Special Stamp & Die Bundle. Altenew has the BEST florals!

Next, I used the Avery Elle Cherry on Top stamp set. (I also purchased the dies to match!) Instead of coloring the cherries, I paper pieced them! The background embossing folder is by SU!

This sweet, little mouse is from Colorado Craft Company. I placed her onto a gate-fold card and made a few duplicates which were sent to Scor-Pal and Marci Snee (Stamp Junkies).

Here I used a Clearly Besotted set with Christmas crackers. I also paper pieced the candy on this card and covered it with Stickles.

Next is a flamingo stencil by Erin Lee Creative. I need to check out her store some more, this is a fairly new to me company. Looks like some fun things over there!

I purposely offset the stamping on these silhouettes in Gina K Designs Friendly Silhouettes. Such beautiful stamps…I am anxious to use them again!

A small window was cut from the front of this card so that the little sloth from Lawn Fawn Slow Down and Enjoy. could peek through. His backside is on the inside of the card…so cute! (I forgot to take an inside pic).

Nic from Magnuson Custom Stamps is completely awesome to work with! He helped design a set just for our event to coordinate with the theme. Go check out his site and let him help you create the stamp of your choice! Tell him I sent you. 🙂 This sweet embossing folder (Park Lane- Bloom) used on the background is one that I picked up from JoAnn’s some time ago.

MFT Stamps Backyard BBQ and the picnic table dies from their Picnic in the Park Die-namics were used on my next card. The sentiments in this set match perfectly! The grass is retired MFT dies.

Here I used Pink and Main Glossy Dots and a free Pink and Main flower image from this Digi Stamp Bundle. The window was cut with MFT Square Peek-a-Boo Window Die-namics.

Last one! I colored the sweet Chillin’ image by Unity Stamp Company to resemble a cranberry drink with orange slices. It will make an awesome glass of lemonade, too!

Stay warm and happy crafting!

more catch up

I’m sharing a few more cards today from the past 6 months. The first two are Faux Center Step Cards. Instead of cutting the scored card base and popping the center up, a separate strip is folded and adhered to the middle. So easy! First, I used the SU! Honey Bee Bundle.

For the second Faux Center Step card, I used an Altenew Layered Daffodil die set that was a magazine freebie several years ago.

Next is a W-V Fold card. I used some pretty papers shared by a friend and the SU! Nature Prints stamps.

The Tim Holtz Snarky Cat and Snarky Cat Halloween sets were used for the next two cards. This design is the Stack, Cut, & Shuffle technique. It’s great for making a quick set of 4 cards! Just stack 4 pieces of patterned papers and cut them all together. Then shuffle the pieces around and adhere them in place.

I used a clipart coloring page for the cake on this birthday card and reduced the size of it. The dotty background was made with the Taylored Expressions Bokeh Stencils.

This masculine card was made with SU! Snow Front and the Timber embossing folder.

Another masculine card uses the SU! Calling All Heroes set. The tiny words are from SNSS Birthday Wordfetti and the cover plate die is CC Designs Quad Collage Die.

Taylored Expressions has some great stencils…here I used the Mini Slim- In the Garden set. The sentiments are from SNSS Everyday Greetings.

This last card was made for a Christmas in July challenge. I used an old Cuttlebug embossing folder, Christmas Ornaments. The sentiment is from the retired SNSS Wondrous Miracle, and I think the snowflake is an old SU! punch.

Have a great week!

September catch up

Hello! I still have a bunch of cards from the past 6 months that I haven’t shared, so today will be another catch up day. Sorry for the photo heavy post! I’ll share a few more later.

First is a card made with the Altenew Handpicked Bouquet set. After the florals were stamped in black, I used Gina Marie’s Stitched Rectangles to cut out the center. It was then stamped with colored image layers, added to a piece of black cardstock, and adhered back in place. Altenew has some of the best layered florals!

My second card uses the Altenew Fantasy Floral 3D Die Set and SU! Stitched Greenery Die. This was for a wedding card and made to match the bride’s colors. The sentiment is from SNSS Script Sentiments.

Next is a masculine birthday card with an old, retired SU! set, Antique Autos. The background behind the auto was made with Distress cardstock and inks, Tea Dye & Stormy Sky.

Here, I used Simon Says Stamp Blossom Field embossing folder, MFT Die-Namics Stitched Square Scallop Frames, Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms dies, and Gina Marie Drop Pendant Dies. The sentiment is from SU! Shaded Summer. I also made a Mother’s Day version of this card (sentiment from SU! Timeless Tulips).

The next few cards were made with Hobby Lobby’s Eucalyptus paper by The Paper Studio. On the first card, I punched a circle from the paper and layered a Spellbinders die cut, We Bring Happy Wishes, over the opening. The sentiment is from SU! Celebrate Sunflowers and was die cut with Taylored Expressions Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets. I added a few tiny flowers with an Impression Obsession flower die.

Then I used the same paper with a 6×6 OSW by Mary Knabe to create a set of 4 cards. I used SU! Forever Fern and Shaded Summer stamps with Soft Sky and Lost Lagoon paper, Fern embossing folder, Stitched So Sweetly Dies, and the Butterfly Duet punch.

This sweet note card was cased from my friend, Tina. I used a different paper and sentiment (SNSS Everyday Greetings), but the layout is the same.

A birthday card for someone who loves moose…SU! Merry Moose and Simply Sketched with Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry. Background is Evergreen Forest embossing folder.

A set of Mystery Cards with some old Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper. Simply turn a sheet of 12×12 paper over and cut into six 4 x 5 1/4 pieces. Turn them over and adhere to a card base, add sentiments. That’s it!

SU! Positive Thoughts & Simply Sketched for a quick sympathy card…

My last card today uses Sweet ‘n Sassy’s Donut Worry, plus SU! Sweet As a Peach & Timeworn Type embossing folder.

Have a great day!

more recent cards

Good morning! This is a very image heavy post today but I have quite a few cards to share. Thanks for sticking with me! I’ll try to keep the text short. 🙂

The first card uses the Art Impressions 5319- Birthday Set, 5317- MB Template Dies, 5318- MB Envelope Dies, 5323- MB Wall Accessories, and 5324- MB Cat Accessories. I made this one a few months ago and overlooked it in my files. These are so fun to create and fold up so tiny!

My second card was made in support of Ukraine and was given to someone who has family in shelter there. Praying for everyone in this horrible situation. I used SNSS Beautiful Bouquets Bundle, SNSS Script Background, Sunny Studio Frilly Frames- Lattice, and SU! Stitched So Sweetly dies.

A masculine birthday card using Sizzix Circuit embossing folder and MFT Block Happy Birthday die. The small sentiment is Sweet ‘n Sassy Birthday Wordfetti.

I made a set of CAS thank you cards for a friend who’s father passed away. SU! Punch Party, Trio of Tags Dies, and Evergreen Forest embossing folder.

The next two cards use SU! Forever Fern, The Paper Studio- Eucalyptus paper, MFT Stitched Basic Edges and Scalloped Stitched Basic Edges, and Sizzix Layered Ovals. Colors- Soft Sky, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Certainly Celery, Blue Bayou, Soft Seafoam.

A special card for a birthday girl! MFT Friendly Unicorns & Dies, Color Blast Die, and Grassy Hills Die, Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders, Sweet ‘n Sassy Birthday Wordfetti and Puffy Clouds Stencil.

I made a cute gnome shadow box card with Lawn Fawn Shadow Box Dies, and MFT Hanging With My Gnomies.

Next is two cards with SU! Hand-Penned Petals and Hand-Penned Memories & More cards & envelopes. I also used the SU! Stitched So Sweetly Dies. On the first card I also used a sentiment from SU! Friendly Hello and SSS Stitched Circles Dies. On the second card I also used SU! Here’s A Card, SU! Brick & Mortar embossing folder, and Gina Marie Stitched Rectangles. It was semi-cased from Elizabeth Price (Seeing Inkspots).

Simple black & white versions of a card using word dies… Hero Arts- Hello There stamp & die set.

I went with blue and browns for my bee card… SU! Honeybee Home, SU! Hive embossing folder, and circle punches.

A few alternates from the SU! January 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit. The embossed hearts are from an old Cuttlebug Love Language embossing folder. These were scored to change them from a trifold card to a gatefold. I love shaped cards!

Altenew is known for their florals and the Simple Beauty set was used here to make some sympathy cards. The diecut edge is from MFT Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2.

I am late getting a start on this year’s Christmas cards but I squeaked out a few with the TH Snarky Christmas Cat set.

Another masculine birthday card. These are harder for me! SU! Snowfront used here with some woodgrain paper.

And lastly, some diecut birthday cards using Sweet ‘n Sassy Sweet Treats Stamp & Die Bundle, Sizzix Happy Birthday Drop-Ins Card Dies, Lawn Fawn Double sided adhesive sheets, and a bunch of 1/2″ cardstock strips!

Thanks for scrolling this far and have a great day!

2020 wrap up

Hello! Popping in with a second post to wrap up 2020. Some of these are recent projects and some I just never got around to sharing.

This masculine birthday card uses SU! Best Catch and Catch of the Day Thinlits, Old Olive paper and Gina Marie Stitched Rectangle dies.

Next is a wintery card with one of the Anita Jeram kittens (Kittens and Mittens) from Colorado Craft Company. Anita Jeram is the illustrator of the children’s book, Guess How Much I Love you. Her designs are wonderful! The papers are MME- Merry Little Christmas.

The Fa la la framed art was made for a friend in our stamping group’s gift exchange. I started with a 7 Gypsies Shadow Box Tray. Dies: Spellbinders FaLaLa and Santa’s Parade (birds), Sizzix Endless Love Alpha, and Marianne Design tree- LR0136. Background paper: The Paper Studio- Silver Foiled Snowflake. The fence is a Martha Stewart Halloween punch with the bats removed and the wreath is a brad. The beaded snowflake is an old Jolee’s sticker and I added some Aleene’s True Snow around the tiny tree.

I was asked to make a name banner for a newborn baby with pink, gold, and butterflies. Here’s what I came up with. I used Momenta Banner and Alpha dies, Gina Marie Scalloped Stitched Circles, Sizzix Bold Flora dies, and an SU! Butterfly punch.

SU! Love of Leaves fall thank you card in non-traditional colors!

A bible journaling page from August in Pop Art style. The printables were created by Diane Noble.

I made a bunch of Rae Dunn style mugs but only got two finished into tags. I guess I have a good start for next year. lol. These were inspired by some I saw on the internet. I typed and printed a skinny font. The tag and mug dies are MFT. The accent images are from Sizzix Festive Treats dies.

They’re so cute on a package!

Next, I have two more fall projects. The first one is with a vintage Rubber Stampede Halloween Snoopy stamp and some old Cuttlebug dies.

And last is a CAS masculine thank you card. I used Gina Marie Chevron BKGD cutting plate, Altenew Bold Thanks, and Prima Forest Leaves.

Have a great week!

mish mash 2

Just popping in with a variety of recent projects… a banner, treats, and cards.

Our granddaughter turned one and I was long overdue in making her a name banner! I picked up the string of pompoms somewhere (Target dollar spot??) a long time ago and saved it for this purpose. All I had to do was make the letter banners and slide the pompoms to place.

I used the Altenew Bitty Bloom 3D and Bold Alphabet dies along with Momenta Banner and Intricate Nested Shapes dies. Papers used: white, gray, SU! Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Raspberry Ripple, Pear Pizzazz, and MME- Heirloom papers.

I scored and folded the tops of the banners to allow for the thickness of the string. Some Scor-Tape secured them after they were placed over the string.

I also made a pile of Halloween treats, pretty much following the directions in the SU! Paper Pumpkin kit. Lots of pieces were leftover for future projects.

The layout of this card was copied from our demonstrator friend, who CASED this card by Cindy Elam. The rose gold leaves here were cut with Lawn Fawn dies and are quite pretty in person.

The last two cards were made with Stamptember sets from Simon Says Stamp. The first set is by Altenew, called Framed Friendship, and I used the same sketch that I used on a previous card.

The second Stamptember set I used is Tim Holtz’ Snarky Christmas Cats. The red plaid paper is a scrap that matches the white plaid. I simply matched it up and layered it on.

Thanks for looking! 🙂

virtual stamping 6

Happy Saturday! I’m back with a bunch of cards for various challenges with friends. For my first one I used up some flowers leftover from a previous project. These are from Altenew’s Flower Arrangement stamp set & matching dies. The sentiment is from SU! Peaceful Moments. I also used SU! Coastal Weave embossing folder and Die-Namics Stitched Basic Edges 2.

The second card uses Altenew’s Build-A-Flower: Snapdragon. This was for a sketch and favorite flower challenges. I’m not sure I really have a favorite flower but I do have fond memories of my grandmother’s snapdragons in her flower beds. I still can’t resist squeezing them!

I combined 4 different challenges for the next one…monochromatic, a sketch, using retired colors (I chose Baroque Burgundy), and using gingham. The flowers are from SU! Bloom With Hope.

The front of this card was for a sketch challenge and the inside was a special fold. The butterflies are SU! Butterfly Gala and the Butterfly Duet punch.

We were challenged to CASE a card by Jane Daniels from the UK. I loved her use of diamonds! Here’s my slightly different layout/colors/sentiment using SU! Positive Thoughts and the Birch Press Sending Sugar Script die.

Another special fold…this time using SU! Free As A Bird and Botanical Gardens dsp. I also used Sizzix Bold Flora dies.

The next two cards are for a challenge to pull out those old wheels. I chose the SU! Neighborhood Wheel. The sentiments are from a Taylored Expressions printable.

How long has it been since we did punch art? I found these two pieces in my stash from quite a while ago. The first was for punch art and sketch challenges. Remember Care Bears?

The second was for punch art and woven strips challenges. The sentiment is an old wood block by Amuse.

A friend said to dig out an old set…so I dug out SU! 2004 Rhyme Time and paired it with a Darice Numbers embossing folder.

The last card was for another sketch and also using wheels. This time I used the SU! Making Tracks wheel. The motorcycle is from SU! 2003 Born to Ride.

That’s it for this time…Have a great day!

virtual stamping 4

Hello! I’m back with more cards that I’ve recently made while “virtual stamping” with friends and playing along with challenges. My first card was for a challenge to make a split card. I used Altenew’s Flower Arrangement stamp set & matching dies. Altenew makes such pretty flowers!

Here’s a pic of how I placed the flowers on a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock. I didn’t draw a line down the center with a pencil per directions…I just lightly scored a line. After they’re glued down, you cut the piece in half and trim the edges to create two cards.

Colors used: SU! Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, and Garden Green.

My next card was for a challenge to make a Tall Z-Fold card. I used the retired SU! Simply Soft set, along with Touches of Texture (bee) and Peaceful Moments. The border was punched with a Martha Stewart Edge punch.

Colors: Distress Picked Raspberry and SU! Daffodil Delight.

Here’s one for a Four Fold card challenge. Again I used Touches of Texture and Peaceful Moments.

Colors used: SU! Vintage Violet, Cool Caribbean, Smoky Slate, and Sweet Sugarplum.

This next one was for Offset Triple Stamping. I used SU! Positive Thoughts and the Scripty embossing folder.

For a challenge to use a new purchase, I used my May Paper Pumpkin kit (mine arrived late as the first box was lost in the mail!). I made an acetate tent card. They are a lot of fun!

The next few cards were created with a new Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps set called Peace Be Still. This is a great masculine set! I paired it with papers by The Paper Studio- The Pink Navy. This one was for a sketch challenge.

I got out the old craft knife to cut inside the rope.

Another one for a sketch challenge and also uses Peace Be Still.

Two more cards I made with Peace Be Still were made with layered ovals. I have no idea where this design originated but here’s a video with circles to show you how. I’ve seen it done with various shapes and they all look cool!

Cardstock colors: SU! Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay.

I combined two challenges, to make a collar card and a patriotic one, and used the Paper Smooches Circle of Honor stamp set. There’s an epoxy star sticker inside the large star. It’s so sad to hear that Kim is retiring Paper Smooches! But I wish her the best in her new endeavors!

Here’s another masculine card for a sketch challenge. I used Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Time Well Spent,  Gear Up and Texture Tiles 2. Cardstock is Bordering Blue and Mossy Meadow.

My last card for today is for a Double Pleated Card challenge. I used Begin Again  and Encouraging Thoughts.

I’ve found a few more cards that I didn’t photograph yet so I’ll save those for next time! Have a great day and stay safe!
