Snuggles & Musical Memories

Hello!  Today I have 2 more of my Stampavie CHA cards to share.  The first one is with the cute Laurence Design image called Musical Memories.

I added some roses and matching papers to go with the rose in the dog’s mouth.  I love the “old-time” feel of the wind-up music player and the birds just give this image a happy note!

My second card uses the sweet Penny Johnson image called Snuggles.  I love to paper piece and her nightgown was just perfect for this technique.

spring fever!

Hello friends!  We got about 16 – 18 inches of the white stuff yesterday.  Eeek!  As I said, I am soooo ready for spring!  I definitely have spring fever!  And it is on my mind so much, that I chose my 2 CHA samples to share today with those 2 words in mind…spring (for my spring-y egg basket) and fever (for my swine flu tissue box cover).  LOL.  If you keep reading, I have a variation below for creating the top opening of the tissue cover.

I love to make 3-D items along with cards…it’s a lot of fun to see how they evolve.  For my first 3-D item I created an egg-shaped basket with the cute Penny Johnson image called Easter Chick.

How cute is that chick?  Here’s a close up…he’s so sweet!

I apologize…I do have a pattern for the egg basket but I just can’t share it yet.  It will be coming in the future!

And my second project to share today is another one of my tissue box covers.  This time I used the Mo Manning Swine Flu image.

I don’t know if it’s supposed to be a boy pig or a girl pig…but I just had to give “her” a pink robe!  😉   Here’s another close up so you can see the detail of the image.

I also wanted to show you a different way to create the top opening of my tissue box cover.  If you don’t have any dies to cut a decorative hole, it can easily be created with a decorative punch.  Insert your punch on one side of the top layer and punch an opening…

Then turn the top layer 180 degrees and punch again from the opposite side…very quick and easy!

Thanks for stopping by!  I think I’m going to cross my fingers and toes, stand on my head, spin around three times and chant…I wish for spring…I wish for spring…

egg basket:  stamps- Penny Johnson’s Easter Chick by Stampavie; paper- green, white, Not Quite Navy, dp- Cosmo Cricket Early Bird- Sunrise; ink- Celery, Saffron, Memento Black; accessories- Martha Stewart Pinking Scallop and grass punches, ProvoCraft deco scissors, brads, flowers, Copics, Scor-Pal.

swine flu tissues: stamps- Mo Manning Swine Flu by Stampavie; paper- white, kraft, green, Pretty in Pink, dp- Flair Designs; ink- Pretty in Pink, Memento Black; accessories- Copics, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Perfectly Paisley folders, SU! Decorative Label punch (to create top opening), Squares & Lacey Squares Nestabilities, ribbon, pop dots, crochet flower, Scor-Pal.

UR GR8…celebrate!

Happy Monday!  If I say it loud enough, it might just be true, right?  lol.  Actually, it IS a great day because it’s a holiday and that means a day off.  *big grin*

Today I have two more of my Stampavie CHA cards to share.  We are in the midst of our “52 Days of CHA”, so be sure to check out the Stampavie blog every day for fresh & fun samples of the newly released images!

This first card was created with the Gillian Roberts Texting image.  I die cut some letters to make a “texting sentiment” and pieced some papers on the bottom to mimic the quilt in the image.  I wish we had cell phones and texting when I was young!  Back then we were tied closely to the phone with a cord.  You were lucky if you had a looong cord and it reached into a closet!  LOL.  Privacy was limited for sure.  And I think we all remember how important privacy was when we were a teen…LOL!

I think this girl has a crush.  ;^)

My second card today is a Mo Manning image called Simon.  Yay!  More Mo Manning!  And she has some great boy images this time.

Some headphones, a skateboard, and a cap…he’s all set!

Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by!  ♥

Flower Girl, TuTu Cute & Shopping Girl

Hello!  I have a lot to share today so it’s a long post, folks!  First I will share two of my CHA cards.  Today is my turn to post on the Stampavie DT blog…are you enjoying the daily inspiration there from the design team?  They created such fabulous cards and projects for the booth and it looked great!

My first card was made with the very sweet Gillian Roberts image called Flower Girl.  I started with a pre-cut card base and made a frame with some Nestabilities die-cut scraps I had left over from a previous project.  The word “hi” is from the Cuttlebug Olivia Alphabet.  I loved the simple design of this card and the Flower Girl image just makes me happy!

For my second card, I started with another pre-cut card base and used the too, too cute image by Tina Wenke called…TuTu Cute!  She is so fun to color!  Again, I used the Cuttlebug Olivia Alphabet for the sentiment.  And a tiny bit of Stickles was added to both cards to finish them off.  I ♥ those knees and boots!  LOL.

I have been having fun coloring up the new releases!  Each one is cuter than the last!  But I also love all of the previous collections, so I pulled out some Leere Aldrich images that I was itching to stamp.

This one is called Shopping Girl and I paired it with the Sentiments A set.  The paper used here is from Scribble Scrabble, the Simply Stylish collection.  After seeing the corner punch used by Heidi (the owner of Stampavie) on some of her cards, I just had to have it!  LOL.  Love those corners!  And my mind started seeing it used a few other different ways….here I punched an extra one and gave my credit card some “wings”.  It’s a fast, action-packed card!  LOL.  The wings were outlined with Stickles and I used Copics to draw stripes and dots on the credit card and shopping bags.  Two shoes were cut from the paper and shaded with Copics to accent the words.

Here’s the inside…a tiny dot of Stickles was added to the bow and the pup’s head.

Over on the Stampavie DT blog I also posted some pics of a few ladies who stopped at the booth at CHA.  You can see them here.

That’s it for today…thanks for reading to the end and have a great day!

a few more pics from CHA

Hello friends!  I hope you had a great weekend!  The Super Bowl is on and I’m still catching up on things.  I spent most of my weekend unpacking, doing laundry and relaxing.  My flights back home went well and I had a wonderful time!  I had to run from one end of the Detroit airport to the other but at least the flights weren’t cancelled.  Michelle had a much harder time getting home to Texas but she made it safely.  Who would think you could get all the way to PA in the winter but not to TX?!

My last 2 posts below were typed up before I left and I didn’t get a chance to share any pics from my last 2 days at CHA.  There were so many wonderful samples there it just wasn’t possible to see them all!  Here’s a few more of my favorite pics from the trip.

On Tuesday, the last day of the show, Michelle and I saw some fun jewelry at the Sizzix booth…metal pieces to emboss!  How cool!

And I love, love, love this paper at the KaiserCraft booth!  They had some gorgeous samples made with it!

Another paper dress at the DCWV booth…there were paper dresses and altered dress forms everywhere.  ♥ the butterflies and rose on this one!

Then the show was over and it was time to tear the booth down.  It didn’t take too long but we had to wait for the crates to be brought back in the building.  Everyone was getting a bit antsy and one of the men at the Cosmo Cricket booth across from us got a little silly when taking down their mannequins. I wish I’d have taken a pic.  LOL.

On Wednesday it was time to take the crates back to storage until next year’s show.  We drove down Sunset Blvd. to get to the U-Haul site and got to see the Hollywood sign along the way!

After the crates were locked up and the U-haul was returned, we had just a few hours to do something fun…Disney!  What a fun way to end the trip!  I didn’t want to stand in line to get a pic with Minnie…and it looks like this little girl didn’t want to either.  LOL!

It soon got dark…how beautiful was this on our way out?

After Disney we ate at the Cheesecake Factory…my first time there….YUM!  And on Thursday we flew home.  I had so much fun meeting friends and spending time with Michelle, Heidi and Stuart!  But as with any trip, it felt good to come home to family and my own bed.  :^)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!  ♥

Day 3 is done…

…and boy was it fun!  Look who stopped by our booth!

Donna Downey!  Can you hear me shouting?  LOL.  She and her husband are sooo nice!   It was such a treat to meet them both!

And a few more dirty girls stopped by too.  🙂  I finally got to meet Sherry Cheever…

and Michelle Woerner…

Daisy from Eclectic Paperie came by too and I’m sorry I didn’t get a pic.  🙁

I quickly checked out some favorite paper booths today and found some fun papers at Cosmo Cricket…

… and October Afternoon….

… and at the DCWV booth they had some gorgeous dresses on display made from their papers….

It’s almost 10:00 now so I’ll make it short again tonight.  Tomorrow is the last day and then we start tearing down the booth.  Stuart, Heidi and Michelle have been wonderful and I’m beginning to miss them already.  LOL.

Goodnight!

CHA day 2

It was a busy day today but I did get a chance to take a few pics on the run…literally!  LOL.  So here’s another quick post before bed.  Short & sweet but here’s some more pics.  Everything is going well in the Stampavie booth and the customers are loving the stamps and our DT samples!

From the Spellbinders booth…love their new butterfly die… ♥

….and the banners too!

Prima has so many gorgeous samples but this altered book caught my eye.

Here’s Michelle, Tab from 7 Kids College Fund, Heidi and Jami Bova too.  They are such fun ladies and we had a nice dinner out together yesterday.

Lisa Andrews from the Scor-Pal team I’m on came by our booth to say hello too.  It is so fun meeting new friends!

Yesterday I told you about the Scribble and Scrabble paper company beside us.  The owner is very nice and I got a few pics for you this time.  Sweet paper!

I love the design of the Doodlebug booth…so fun!

And 10 minutes before the show closed today I rushed to the Flower Soft booth so I could meet Jeanne S.  A great ending to the day!

Hope to be back tomorrow.  Bye for now.

Day 1 was fun!

Hello all!  I didn’t have time to blog last night and today we will soon head out for Day 2 at CHA.  So here’s some quick pics of yesterday’s highlights…

Here we all are…right before the show opened.

We were right beside the 7 Gypsies booth….Karen K., I wish you were here!!!  Fun stuff…

And a new paper company was on the other side of us…cute paper!  My pic didn’t turn out…I’ll try to get another.  But here’s the company name if you want to search…

Across from us is the Pink Paisley booth….I am in love with the Soiree line!  This pic is not so good but that’s Rhonna Farrer with pink in her hair…just by watching the booth she seems to be such a FUN lady!  Heidi Swapp was there too!

the Soiree paper…drool….

Got to finally meet  and get hugs from some Dirty girls!!!   Sherrie Siemens stopped by to say hello!

And Dawn Lusk…

Jami Sibley and Taylor VanBruggen…

Stacey Croninger from Creative Crafts (formerly with Paper Crafts mag) stopped by!

And Amy Sheffer…another dirty girl.

Can’t wait to see what’s in store for today!

and it’s done!

Almost too tired to blog here so this will be short & sweet!  It took a little longer than planned but the booth is done and it looks great!  This pic was taken before the plastic was removed from the carpet and some final clean-up was done but now it’s ready for the opening day tomorrow!  We have so many beautiful samples of cards and other projects for people to see.  The design team did a fantastic job!  Don’t forget that you can see all of their projects on the Stampavie DT blog as we start our 52 Days of CHA.

After the booth was done we had a few minutes to check out the progress on some other booths.  I wandered over to the Scor-Pal booth to meet Diana Crick and Valerie Stangle in person.  It would have been nice to visit longer but they were very busy setting up.  Hope to see them again!

That’s all for tonight….hope you have a great weekend!

building it up!

Hello!  Another busy day today at CHA and we’re all a bit tired.  Today we cleaned and built the furniture for the booth and everything so far is set into place.  Here’s some quick pics of Heidi and Stuart working hard…notice who was taking a break to take some photos.  LOL.

Speaking of taking a break….Heidi, Michelle and I went to find some lunch today and guess who we happened to see….

Tim Holtz!   And he was so nice to allow us a few pics!  I look horrible after cleaning and working but that sure made my day!  🙂

It’s exciting to see all the booths going up…I can’t wait to see them finished!  Tomorrow we will decorate our booth and add all of the new stamps and samples from the design team.  They have been very carefully transported to CA and they look wonderful!  ♥

Have a great night!
