Merry Christmas!

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6.

I used the beautiful Sweet ‘n Sassy Christmas Light stamp set and coordinating die to create my last Christmas card of the year.  I also used one of the pretty Doily Borders dies to accent the ribbon.

Today we gather with family and friends to celebrate, hope, and reflect on that very first Christmas.  May you feel the warmth and be filled with the wonder of God’s love, His gift to us.

From my family to you and yours…

Have a Blessed and Meaningful Christmas!

RC Holiday Blog Hop

Hey everyone! We’ve got such a treat in store for you this weekend! To celebrate all of those beautiful Ribbon Carousels being used around the world (yes, we’ve shipped Carousels to 27 countries now!) to keep ribbon, twine, washi tapes and spooled items tidy, we’ll be hopping around our amazing Crewmates blogs for the next 4 days showing you all of the beautiful and creative ways that our designers use THEIR Ribbon Carousels!

I use my Ribbon Carousel to store all of my SU! ribbons, plus my spools of May Arts lace and twine.  These carousels hold a LOT!

In my first pic, you can see the 6 ribbons that I used to make my ribbon tree card.  This is also a good way to use up scraps!

A simple zigzag stitch holds the ribbons in place.

Would you like to win your very own Ribbon Carousel? Here is what you need to do: Visit the Designer’s blogs that are participating in each day of the blog hop and comment on their posts as you go. One of the Crewmate’s Holiday blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Crewmate’s Holiday Blog Hop post.

You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more Crewmate Blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning your very own Ribbon Carousel! The Blog Hop will be open until 11:59 PM Eastern Time Monday, November 25th with the winners being announced Tuesday morning on the Ribbon Carousel Blog.

Already have a Ribbon Carousel? Share a photo of YOUR Ribbon Carousel on our FaceBook page OR email it to [email protected], and we’ll share it for you!  You’ll be in special drawing  for your choice of a Ribbon Carousel or 4 packages of spools!

For those that want a Ribbon Carousel NOW! Mark your calendar! We’ll be having our LOWEST SALE PRICE of the YEAR sale on the Ribbon Carousels and Spools beginning Wednesday, November 27 – Cyber-Monday, December 2!  No coupon code needed! Just go to our store and enjoy some happy shopping!

Here are the participants for Day 4 of the Ribbon Carousel Holiday Blog Hop. Enjoy!  (If the links don’t show up, check them out on the Ribbon Carousel Blog!)

season of change

This month’s theme for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge is Fall and Halloween.  I love this time of year!  The leaves are disappearing but we’ve had great weather.  I was in the mood for stamping some leaves so I decided to create with the Sweet ‘n Sassy Season of Change stamp set and matching Leaf dies.  Oh, I have fallen in love with this set!

Aren’t those leaves gorgeous?  I love the sentiment as well!  When I was finished with my card, I wanted to add something to the leaf panel so I stamped the little dots from the Birthday Bash stamp set, using second generation stamping with the brown ink.

I also added some nice brown May Arts twine that I now have stored on my Carousel.  🙂   Come play along with the RC Crew!

stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy- Season of Change & Birthday Bash (little dots); paper- white, SU! Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Tangerine, Pear Pizzazz; ink- SU! Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Tangerine, Pear Pizzazz; accessories- Sweet ‘n Sassy Leaf dies, tracing wheel, foam tape, May Arts twine.

Haunted 4 Step Card

Hello friends!  Today I have a cute Halloween card to share.  I’m not into the scary, creepy side of this holiday but I do like the cute stuff.  A stamping friend has a birthday this month and she loves Halloween so we all make her fall and Halloween cards for her birthday.

I’ve been wanting to use Norma’s template for a 4 Step Card for several months now and finally took time to try it out.  This is a 6×6 card.

I used some K&Company dimensional stickers on the front that I found on sale at AC Moore.  The orange background was actually part of the packaging…great way to recycle, huh?  I also used a tracing wheel around the orange layer.

To finish the front, I added a bow made with some mummy ribbon and a small piece of washi tape.  This card also fits the theme for the Ribbon Carousel challenge this month…be sure to check it out!

Here’s a side view so you can see the dimension of the stickers…

The inside of the card has a fun pop up.  I was going to put letters on the steps but decided to use some Cuttlebug diecuts instead.

Inside the Cuttlebug skull die I added some googlie eyes.

Thanks for checking out my card!  Have a great Wednesday.

paper- The Paper Company- violet cardstock, K&Company KP Halloween, SU! Tangerine, black, white; accessories- Scor-Pal, K&Company Spooktacular Haunted House dimensional stickers, tracing wheel, Cuttlebug Halloween & Beware dies, Labels 2 Nestabilities, Stickles, SU! googlie eyes, washi tape.

a bookmark card

It’s back-to-school time for the Ribbon Carousel Crew as we share our school themed projects all month long.  The Week 4 crewmates have cards to share on the Ribbon Carousel blog today.  I decided to use the Sweet ‘n Sassy Bookmark Bits & Pieces and coordinating Bookmarks & More dies to make a bookmark card.

I actually got out my sewing machine and stitched a little vellum pocket to the front to slip the bookmark into.  Some crochet thread was added to the button.

The butterfly on the bookmark has some Stickles to make the card a bit sparkly.

E-readers are so popular now, but I still like to hold a book and turn the pages by hand.  And you can’t use a cute bookmark with an E-reader.  😉

I even stamped the inside of the card…and the front of the envelope…

In case you noticed that this is not an A2 sized card, you are right.  I used a standard #6 3/4 business envelope so my card is 3 1/2″ x 6 1/4″ (start with 6 1/4 x 7).  If you normally use 12″ paper, you could make a 3 1/2 x 6 card to fit this size envelope.

Come join our challenge and you may win a Ribbon Carousel of your own!

stamps- Sweet ‘n Sassy Bookmark Bits & Pieces; paper- white, vellum cardstock, DCWV Citrus stack; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black, Pear Pizzazz; accessories- SNSS Bookmarks & More dies, Copics, sewing machine, Stickles, button, crochet thread.

blog candy and Ribbon Carousel review

Yesterday I got some happy in the mail!  I was anxiously waiting to receive my Ribbon Carousel…and it’s here…squeee!  It didn’t take me long to put it together and fill it up!  I was hoping that it would hold all of my SU! ribbons (that was the plan for it!).  As I was filling it up, I was pleasantly surprised just how much ribbon it will hold!  Wow!

And it not only fit all of my SU! ribbons, but my large spools of May Arts lace and twine as well!  Yipee!

And look at that cute pink handle on the top!  ♥  You can choose from clear, pink, and purple!

While I was making a spot to sit my carousel, I got in the mood for “cleaning out” and it has been a long time since I had some blog candy, so…

There’s some different stuff in that pile…stamps, Cuttlebug embossing folder set, chipboard pieces, etc… and RIBBON!  🙂   I’ll pack it all up and maybe add a few other things I might find laying around.  (The blog candy is for the items in the picture above..not the carousel).  😉

I don’t like having to jump through hoops to play, so all you need to do is leave a comment and I’ll pick a winner.  Check back on Tuesday and see if you won.  :0)

*This blog candy is now closed.  See the winner here.  Thanks for visiting!

life is like a rollercoaster

So true, isn’t it?  I have a FUN card today for this month’s Ribbon Carousel challenge…Summer Fun!

I knew that I would have lots of stamps to choose from for the theme this month.  When it was time to create, I glanced around and spied this super cute set by Taylored Expressions which I had to have…but have yet to use.  We try to get to an amusement park each summer because my family loves to ride the coasters…and I love to watch them.  😉  So this set was extra fun to create with.

Here’s a close up.  The orange ribbon was wrapped around and attached underneath the main image…no bows to reduce the bulkiness that a grosgrain ribbon bow can make.

And the inside…

Come play along for a chance to win!

stamps- Taylored Expressions- Adventure Land; paper- white, Jillibean Soup- Blossom Soup; ink- Memento Tuxedo Black; accessories- SU! Labels Framelits, ribbon, foam tape.

seaside summer fun

Today is a lazy day…not much planned.  The sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful day to take Riley for a walk, then lie in the hammock.  Not too hot, not too cool.  ♥

We recently took a trip to Hersheypark and had great weather there as well…which reminded me of this card I haven’t shared yet.  Hersheypark obviously isn’t on a seaside pier but it IS a fun amusement park.

I needed a CAS masculine card, so this fit the bill.  I love the way the SU! Feeling Sentimental Ferris Wheel coordinates with the Inkadinkado Seaside Amusement Pier stamp!  This card also fits this month’s Ribbon Carousel challenge.  I have another fun card to share for their challenge on Tuesday so be sure to stop back!

I don’t ride the rollercoasters (thank you very much) but my family loves them.  Here they are coming off of one…

They said the new coaster at Hershey is a pretty wild ride.  I’ll take their word for it.  😉

stamps- SU! Feeling Sentimental, Inkadinkado Seaside Amusement Pier; paper- Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Vanilla; ink- Soft Suede, Midnight Muse; accessories- twine, tracing wheel.
